This is a list of neighbourhoods in Calgary, Alberta. As of 2016, Calgary has 197 neighbourhoods, which are referred to as "communities" by the municipal government, and 42 industrial areas. A further 15 communities were included in the Municipal census in Canada, civic censuses from 2015 to 2019, bringing the total to 212. Downtown East Village
Downtown East Village more commonly known as simply East Village, is a mixed-use neighbourhood within the eastern portions of downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is contained within the city's Rivers District. Containing the earliest-settled land in the Calgary area - Fort Calgary - East Village was for years a mixture of high-rise residential, commercial, and industrial development. Much of the parkland currently surrounding Fort Calgary was industrial as recently as the 1960s. Construction of the city's light rail transit Blue Line, coupled with the closure of 8th Avenue at Macleod Trail in the early 1980s by construction of the massive Calgary Municipal Building, resulted in East Village being "cut off," from the rest of downtown. It became home to many rundown properties and vacant lots over the years, and a severe crime problem. Winston Heights/Mountview, Calgary
Winston Heights/Mountview is a residential neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded by 32 Avenue to the north, the ''Nose Creek'' and Deerfoot Trail to the east, Trans-Canada Highway to the south and Edmonton Trail to the west. ''Fox Hollow Golf Course'' and ''The Winston Golf Club'' are developed at the eastern edge of the neighbourhood. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 4 councillor. Tuxedo Park is a residential neighbourhood in the northeast and northwest quadrants of Calgary, Alberta. The inner city community is bounded to the north by 32 Avenue N, by Edmonton Trail to the east, the Trans-Canada Highway to the south and 2 Street NW to the west. The community is bisected by Centre Street from north to south. Tuxedo was annexed by the city in 1910 and it was established as a neighbourhood in 1929. Renfrew, Calgary
Renfrew is a residential neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located south of the Trans-Canada Highway, and north of the inner city community of Bridgeland. To the east it is bordered by the ''Nose Hill Creek'' and the Deerfoot Trail and is separated from Crescent Heights to the west by Edmonton Trail. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 9 councillor. The area consists mainly of residences with no major commercial or industrial facilities. There are some small businesses located along Edmonton Trail and 16th Avenue. There are no emergency health care facilities in the district, though several physicians' offices have been established, and the Alberta Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Commission does have a treatment facility established in the neighbourhood. Crescent Heights, Calgary
Crescent Heights is a neighbourhood (formerly its own village) located in Calgary, Alberta. It is located in the inner city, immediately north from downtown Calgary, Downtown. It is bounded to the north by the Trans-Canada Highway, on the east by Edmonton Trail, on the west by 4th Street NW, and to the south by Memorial Drive (Calgary), Memorial Drive and the Bow River. Crescent Heights was originally incorporated as a village on May 1, 1908. It was subsequently annexed by the City of Calgary in 1911 and established as a neighbourhood in 1914. Bridgeland-Riverside, formerly known as Bridgeland and Germantown, is a neighbourhood in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is located northeast of Downtown Calgary. It is bounded to the south by the Bow River, to the east by Deerfoot Trail, to the west by Edmonton Trail and to the north by the community of Renfrew. The community is primarily residential with a mix of parkside condominiums and single-family houses. Deerfoot Trail
Deerfoot Trail is a freeway segment of Alberta Highway 2, Highway 2 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It stretches the entire length of the city from south to north and links suburbs to Downtown Calgary, downtown via Memorial Drive (Calgary), Memorial Drive and 17 Avenue SE (Calgary), 17 Avenue SE. The freeway begins south of Calgary where it splits from Macleod Trail, crosses the Bow River into city limits, and reaches the Stoney Trail ring road. Glenmore Trail
Glenmore Trail is a Limited-access road, expressway in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, named after the Glenmore Reservoir, reservoir which it crosses. It is a Controlled-access highway, freeway between Sarcee Trail in southwest Calgary to Ogden Road in the southeast, carrying nearly 160,000 vehicles per weekday at its busiest point placing it second only to Deerfoot Trail as the busiest road in Alberta. Glenmore Reservoir
The Glenmore Reservoir is a large reservoir on the Elbow River in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is controlled by the Glenmore Dam, a concrete gravity dam on the Elbow River. The Glenmore Reservoir is a primary source of drinking water to the city of Calgary. Built in 1932, with a cost of $3.8 million, the dam controls the downstream flow of the Elbow River, thus allowing the city to develop property near the river's banks with less risk of flooding.
