National Park
A national park is a nature park, natural park in use for conservation (ethic), conservation purposes, created and protected by national governments. Often it is a reserve of natural, semi-natural, or developed land that a sovereign state declares or owns. Although individual nations designate their own national parks differently, there is a common idea: the conservation of 'wild nature' for posterity and as a symbol of national pride. The United States established the first "public park or pleasuring-ground for the benefit and enjoyment of the people", Yellowstone National Park, in 1872. Although Yellowstone was not officially termed a "national park" in its establishing law, it was always termed such in practice and is widely held to be the first and oldest national park in the world. Berowra Valley National Park
The Berowra Valley National Park is a protected national park that is located in northern Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The national park is situated approximately north-west of the Sydney central business district. Located within the Sydney Basin, the park is part of the dissected Hornsby Plateau which is dominated by Hawkesbury Sandstone and predominantly covers the catchment area of Berowra Creek. A contiguous stretch of parkland, from south to north, its southern boundary is defined by Boundary Road, Pennant Hills; its southeastern boundary defined by the western limits of Hornsby; its northeastern boundary defined by the Pacific Motorway; its northern boundary defined by Berowra Waters; and its western boundary defined by a series of creek and gullies as the park extends into Galston Gorge and further south. The Brisbane Water National Park is a protected national park that is located in the Central Coast region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The national park is situated north of Sydney, west of , and southwest of . Features The park has many pleasant and interesting walks that can vary from mild to rugged. One walk that can be easily accessed via public transport, is the walk to Pindar Cave on the escarpment above the Wondabyne railway station, which is a request-stop on the Central Coast railway line. Brindabella National Park
Brindabella National Park is an national park in New South Wales, Australia, that is located approximately southwest of Sydney central business district in the Brindabella Range. Much of the eastern boundary of the national park forms part of the western border of the Australian Capital Territory with New South Wales. Bournda National Park
The Bournda National Park is a protected area in New South Wales, Australia, managed as a national park by NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, and was established on 24 April 1992. It forms part of the Ulladulla to Merimbula Important Bird Area, identified as such by BirdLife International because of its importance for swift parrots. The Bouddi National Park is a coastal national park that is located in the Central Coast region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The national park is situated northeast of Sydney. A section of the national park extends into the Tasman Sea, creating fully protected land, shore and marine habitats. Booti Booti National Park
Booti Booti National Park is a national park in New South Wales, Australia, , by road, north-north-east of Sydney. The holiday town of Forster-Tuncurry lies immediately to the north. History The first European to inhabit the area was a Captain J. Gogerly who sailed from Forster to Sydney with loads of timber. He and some of his family are buried in the park. Mining for mineral sands took place at Seven Mile Beach from 1969 to 1975, and at Elizabeth Beach from 1969 to 1970. Boonoo Boonoo National Park
Boonoo Boonoo National Park (pronounced 'bunna bunoo') is a national park in New South Wales, Australia, 571 km north of Sydney and 26 kilometres north east of Tenterfield off Mount Lindesay Road. The Boonoo Boonoo River passes through the park and includes a cascading 210-metre waterfall and a rainforest filled gorge. Bushwalking, swimming and bush camping are among the attractions of this area. In this park, the weather can be extreme and unpredictable, so visitors must be prepared for various surprises. Boonoo Boonoo is the Aboriginal name given to the area which means 'poor country with no animals to provide food', however, the environment changed and it became home to Kangaroos and Wallabies. Blue Mountains National Park
The Blue Mountains National Park is a protected national park that is located in the Blue Mountains region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The national park is situated approximately west of Sydney, and the park boundary is quite irregular as it is broken up by roads, urban areas and inholdings. Despite the name mountains, the area is an uplifted plateau, dissected by a number of larger rivers. The highest point in the park is Mount Werong at above sea level; while the low point is on the Nepean River at above sea level as it leaves the park.
