Choma Museum And Crafts Project
The Choma Museum and Crafts Centre is a museum in Choma, Zambia dedicated to preserving the heritage of the Tonga tribe. It houses and sells traditional crafts and artifacts. The museum displays the cultural heritage of the Tonga tribe of the Southern Province of Zambia. It houses many traditional artifacts including beadwork, musical instruments, spears, clay figurines and jewelry. The Museum's crafts projects stimulate production of local crafts such as baskets, beadwork, carving, etc. It saves to preserve the local traditional skills and providing an alternative form of income to the people of Southern Province of Zambia. Chilenje House 394
Chilenje House 394, located in Chilenje, Lusaka, Zambia a Museum, a house in which Dr Kenneth Kaunda lived from January 1960 to December 1962. He later became the first president of Zambia. From this house, he directed the struggle for Independence of Zambia, which was finally achieved on 24 October 1964. It is described as a simple two-bed roomed residential house with a small living room and a kitchen. It lies in a spacious compound littered with giant trees that seem to thrive on a stony ground." Three houses are included in the protected monument, and have been restored as nearly as possible to their 1962 condition by the demolition of improvements effected since that date. Moto Moto Museum
The Moto Moto Museum is a museum in Mbala, Zambia, housing a collection of artifacts related to Zambian culture, first collected by Canadian priest Jean Jacques Corbeil in the 1940s. The artifacts, collected for study and posterity by Father Cornbeil, were stored in the Mulilansolo Mission until 1964, when they were moved to Serenje, Zambia until 1969, then to Isoka.
