Castelleone Di Suasa
Castelleone di Suasa is a town and ''comune'' within the Province of Ancona, in the Marche region of Italy. It is well known for the archaeological park of Suasa, an ancient Roman town. Rising on a hill near the river Cesano, Castelleone di Suasa is also called "green town" because of its flourishing nursery activity. Below the medieval castle there are the remains of the Roman municipality of Suasa, that rose along the branch of the via Flaminia that led to ''Sena Gallica'' (Senigallia). Loreto (AN)
Loreto ( , , ) is a hill town and ''comune'' of the Italian province of Ancona, in the Marche. It is most commonly known as the seat of the Basilica della Santa Casa, a popular Catholic pilgrimage site. Location Loreto is located above sea level on the right bank of the Musone river and by rail south-southeast of Ancona; like many places in the Marche, it provides good views from the Apennines to the Adriatic. Jesi
Jesi, also spelled Iesi (), is a town and ''comune'' of the province of Ancona in Marche, Italy. It is an important industrial and artistic center in the floodplain on the left (north) bank of the Esino river before its mouth on the Adriatic Sea. History Jesi was one of the last towns of the Umbri when, in the 4th century BC, the Senones Gauls invaded the area and ousted them. They turned it into a stronghold against the Piceni. In 283 BC the Senones were defeated by the Romans. Jesi in 247 BC became a ''colonia civium romanorum'' with the name of ''Aesis''. During the fall of the Western Roman Empire, Iesi was ravaged by the troops of Odoacer (476 AD) and again in 493 by the Ostrogoths of Theodoric the Great. Falconara Marittima
Falconara Marittima is a seaside resort on the Adriatic coast, in Italy, located north of Ancona, in the Marche region, province of Ancona. History Falconara developed around a castle. In the second half of the 16th century it was bought by the noble family of Bourbon del Monte. In the 19th century they were still present as owners. The Castle of Falconara, together with those of Rocca Priora and of Castelferretti, represented a defence system around Ancona, which controlled the territory and demanded bridge toll for crossing over the river Esino and had many other functions. Corinaldo
Corinaldo is a town and ''comune'' in the Province of Ancona, within the Marche region of central Italy. It is about north of Assisi. It is home to well-preserved 14th-century walls, and was the birthplace of Saint Maria Goretti; it is also the site of a Halloween festival held every October. It is a wine country (its Verdicchio is famous). Corinaldo is included in the association "I Borghi più belli d'Italia" and in 2007 it was voted "Italy's prettiest village".
