This is a list of municipalities in São Paulo (state), São Paulo ordered by Human Development Index (HDI) according to data released by the United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) of the United Nations for the 2010. The Human Development Index was developed in 1990 by the Pakistani economist Mahbub ul Haq and the Indian economist Amartya Sen. According to the list. of the 645 municipalities in the state of São Paulo, 24 have very high HDI (equal to or greater than 0.800), 556 have high HDI (between 0.700 and 0.799), 61 have medium (between 0.600 and 0.699), none of them have low (between 0.500 and 0.599), and none of them have very low (less than 0.500). The HDI of São Paulo is 0.819 (considered very high). Marília () is a Brazilian municipality in the midwestern region of the state of São Paulo. Its distance from the state capital São Paulo is by highway, by railway and in a straight line. Taubaté
Taubaté is a medium-sized city in the state of São Paulo, in southeastern Brazil. History Taubaté was part of the ancient Tupinambá Territory, along the Paraíba do Sul River. The Tupinambá Territory in the 16th century, stretched from the Juqueriquerê River on the shores of Caraguatatuba to the Cape of Saint Thomas (Cabo de São Tomé) in the State of Rio de Janeiro. The first village was created in 1640 being proclaimed as an autonomous locality on December 5, 1645, by a pioneer named Jacques Felix. Pirassununga is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil, with an altitude of 627 meters. The population is 76,877 (2020 est.) in an area of 727 km2. Rio Claro, São Paulo
Rio Claro is a city in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. The elevation is 613 m. It was incorporated as the village of '' São João Batista do Ribeirão Claro'' in 1827, and this incorporation is celebrated every year on June 24 as a municipal holiday. The name was changed later to ''Rio Claro''.
