Municipal Presidents
A ''presidente municipal'' (English: "municipal president") is the chief of government of municipios in Mexico. This title was also used in the Philippines under the Spanish and American colonization; it is comparable to a mayor of the town or city. The position is comparable to the county executive of a county in the United States or to the mayor of a city in the United States, although the jurisdiction of a ''presidente municipal'' includes not only a city but the municipality surrounding it. Nationally, this position is also equivalent to that of Head of Government of the Federal District and that is why these positions are sometimes referred to as "mayors" in English-language publications. Tuxtla Gutiérrez
Tuxtla Gutiérrez (, ) is the capital and the largest city of the Mexican southeastern state of Chiapas. It is the seat of the municipality of the same name, the most developed and populated in the state. A busy government, commercial and services-oriented city, Tuxtla (as it is commonly known) had one of the fastest-growing rates in Mexico in the last 40 years. Unlike many other areas in Chiapas, it is not a major tourist attraction, but a transportation hub for tourists coming into the state, with a large airport and a bus terminal. Enoch Araujo Sánchez
Enoch Araujo Sánchez (born 26 March 1949) is a Mexican politician from the National Action Party. From 2000 to 2003 he served as Deputy of the LVIII Legislature of the Mexican Congress representing Chiapas. He was also municipal president of Tuxtla Gutiérrez from 1995 to 1998. Francisco Rojas Toledo
Francisco Antonio Rojas Toledo (born January 29, 1956) is a Mexican politician. A member of the National Action Party, he was his party's candidate for Governor of Chiapas in the 2006 elections before he withdraw his candidacy in favor of the PRI-PVEM candidate, José Antonio Aguilar Bodegas. Francisco Rojas Toledo is a doctor surgeon with specialization in gynecology, he was elected in 2003 as Federal Deputy for the IX Federal Electoral District of Chiapas to the LIX Legislature, and in 2006 he had been nominated as the candidate to Senator by his state, but finally was nominated candidate to the governor by the National Executive Committee of his party, that preferred the proposal of an own candidate to one external, among the ones that he had mentioned ex-governor, Roberto Albores Guillén. Juan Sabines Guerrero
Juan José Sabines Guerrero (born August 20, 1968) is a Mexican politician, son of the former Governor of Chiapas, Juan Sabines Gutiérrez and nephew of the writer Jaime Sabines. Until, 2006 he was member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) that carried him to be Municipal President of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, but renounced his membership to the PRI after the party denied him the chance to be a candidate for governor and asked him to finish his term as municipal president. He then became a candidate of the Coalition for the Good of All, composed by the parties PRD, PT and Convergence. He was consul of Mexico in Orlando from June 2015 to December 2018.
