Municipal Presidents
A ''presidente municipal'' (English: "municipal president") is the chief of government of municipios in Mexico. This title was also used in the Philippines under the Spanish and American colonization; it is comparable to a mayor of the town or city. The position is comparable to the county executive of a county in the United States or to the mayor of a city in the United States, although the jurisdiction of a ''presidente municipal'' includes not only a city but the municipality surrounding it. Nationally, this position is also equivalent to that of Head of Government of the Federal District and that is why these positions are sometimes referred to as "mayors" in English-language publications. The National Action Party ( es, Partido Acción Nacional, PAN) is a conservative political party in Mexico founded in 1939. Labor Party (Mexico)
The Labor Party ( es, Partido del Trabajo, , PT; also known as the Workers Party) is a political party in Mexico. It was founded on 8 December 1990. The party is currently led by Alberto Anaya. History The party first participated in federal elections in 1991, but it failed to win 1.5 percent of the vote (the amount necessary to be recognized as a national party). In 1994, Cecilia Soto became the presidential candidate. In 1998 the PT allied with the larger Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) for the first time in the state of Zacatecas. Ecologist Green Party Of Mexico
The Ecological Green Party of Mexico ( es, Partido Verde Ecologista de México, , PVEM or PVE) is a green-conservative political party in Mexico. In the 2012 legislative elections, the party took 34 seats in the Chamber of Deputies (out of 500) and nine seats in the Senate (out of 128). During the 2012 Presidential election, PVEM supported Enrique Peña Nieto (EPN), the candidate from the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), who was elected. In 2018, PVEM supported Todos por México coalition, along with PRI and PANAL. José Antonio Meade, the coalition's candidate, came in third in a four-way race, with 16.43% of the vote. Javier Gándara Magaña (born 23 November 1944) is a Mexican businessman and politician. He is a member of the National Action Party (PAN). He served as the municipal president of Hermosillo from 2009 to 2012 and was the PAN nominee in the 2015 Sonora gubernatorial election, where he was defeated by Claudia Pavlovich. Early life and business career Gándara Magaña was born on 23 November 1944 in Hermosillo, Sonora. He graduated from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) with a degree in business administration. Gándara Magaña began his business career at Autos Kino S.A. He joined the board of the parent company Gemso. In 1997 he created Grupo Ganfer, a business group composed of agricultural industries, commercial and real estate businesses.
