This is a list of municipal commissioners for finance of Stockholm (''finansborgarråd''). In English, the title is often translated as Mayor of Stockholm.c.f. :sv:Stockholms författningsreform 1940 The office of municipal commissioner for finance was set up in 1920, replacing the previous office of mayor. While the mayor (''borgmästare'') before 1920 was appointed by the government, the municipal commissioner for finance is elected by the Stockholm city council. After a reform in 1940, the municipal commissioner for finance always represents the ruling political majority coalition in the city. From 1994 the municipal commissioner for finance is also chairman of the municipal council (''kommunstyrelsen''), a title often called mayor in English. Sten Nordin
Sten Nordin (born 18 February 1956), is a Swedish politician of the Moderate Party and the governor of Blekinge County. He served as mayor of Stockholm from 2008 to 2014. Educated at the University of Uppsala, he was chairman of the Heimdal Association, the Free Moderate Party Student Union. Nordin was elected as a member of the Stockholm City Council from 1992, and was vice chair of the Moderate group from 1994-2006. Leaving municipal politics, he was a member of the Riksdag from 2006 until 2008. During his time in the Riksdag he was a member of the Transport Committee and Tax Committee. Returning to city politics, in late April 2008, he was elected mayor of Stockholm. He left the role following the election of 2014. Anna ''Kristina'' Axén Olin (née ''Axén'') (born 21 October 1962) is a Swedish Moderate politician and member of the Riksdag, she is currently a member and the Second vice-Speaker of the Education Committee. She currently takes up seat number 244 in the Riksdag. She was a member of the Justice Committee from her entry in the Riksdag until February 2019. She held the post of Mayor of Stockholm between 2006–2008, being the city's second female mayor. Annika Billström
Annika Billström (born 7 April 1956) is a Swedish social democratic politician. She was the first female mayor of Stockholm, serving between 2004 and 2006. Background Billström's background was as the chief financial officer of Handels, the Swedish Commercial Employees' Union between 1987 and 1994. She was elected to the Stockholm City Council serving as road commissioner in 1994–98 and commissioner in opposition from 1998 to 2002. Mayoralty Billström was appointed mayor of Stockholm in 2002 by the City Council after winning the municipal election and forming a majority with the Left party and the Green party. Carl Cederschiöld is a Swedish former Moderate Party politician. He was an active member of the Confederation of Swedish Conservative and Liberal Students and was chairman between 1972 and 1973. He was elected to Stockholm City Council in 1976. With the Moderate election victory in 1991, Cederschiöld became Mayor and Commissioner of Finance. Ulf Adelsohn
Ulf Adelsohn (born 4 October 1941) is a Sweden, Swedish politician, leader of the Moderate Party from 1981 to 1986 and List of governors of Stockholm County, Governor of Stockholm County from 1992 to 2001. He was a member of the Riksdag from 1982 to 1988 and served as Chairman of the Board of SJ AB 2001–2011, from where he resigned due to quarrels with the Reinfeldt cabinet on its railway deregulation policies.
