List of Australian Paralympians that have competed in multiple sports at the Summer or Winter Paralympic Games. Several athletes have competed at both the Winter and Summer Paralympics. Daphne Ceeney
Daphne Jean Hilton (née Ceeney; 7 January 1934 – 25 July 2016) was an Australian Paralympic competitor. She was the first Australian woman to compete at the Paralympic Games. She won fourteen medals in three Paralympics in archery, athletics, fencing, swimming, and table tennis from 1960 to 1968. Personal Ceeney was born in the New South Wales town of Harden-Murrumburrah on 7 January 1934, as the eldest of four children. She became a paraplegic after breaking her back in a horse-riding accident in 1951 at the age of 17. She spent 9 months in Sydney's Royal Prince Alfred Hospital before returning to Murrumburrah. Eight years after the accident, she moved to Sydney, where she spent six months at the Cherrywood Rehabilitation Centre and then one year at Mt Wilga Rehabilitation Hospital. Garry Croker
Garry Croker (born 2 November 1964) is an Australian Paralympic wheelchair rugby and table tennis player. He was born in Cowra, New South Wales. He participated in table tennis at the 1984 Paralympics and the 1988 Seoul Paralympics. He was part of the Australia national wheelchair rugby team Wheelchair rugby is a sport with national representation at the Paralympic games. The Australian Team is known as the 'Steelers'. Australia has competed at every Paralympics Games since the sport gained full Paralympic Medal status at the 2000 ... at the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Paralympics, winning a silver medal with the team in the latter competition. Terry Giddy
Terence "Terry" Giddy (born 2 April 1950) is an Australian Paralympic athlete with paraplegia, who won six medals over six Paralympics. Personal Giddy was born on 2 April 1950 in the New South Wales town of Kempsey, New South Wales, Kempsey, as the second of four children. He became paraplegic at the age of 15 after a tree-felling accident. He has been married to his wife Margaret since 1978, and has three stepsons and two grandchildren. He runs Big Terry's Little Gym, which has trained powerlifters who have won world titles. He is tall. Career Giddy became involved in paralympic sport after a dare. Jessica Gallagher
Jessica Gallagher (born 14 March 1986) is an Australian Paralympic alpine skier, track and field athlete, tandem cyclist and rower. She was Australia's second female Winter Paralympian, and the first Australian woman to win a medal at the Winter Paralympics at the 2010 Vancouver Games. She competed at the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi, where she won a bronze medal in the women's giant slalom visually impaired. She is legally blind, and represents Australia internationally in three sports: skiing, athletics and cycling. Besides her skiing achievements, she has represented Australia in athletics at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, and won a silver and a bronze medal at the 2011 Christchurch IPC Athletics World Championships in long jump and javelin, respectively. Amanda Fraser
Amanda Fraser (born 10 November 1981 in Emerald, Queensland) is an Australian Paralympic athlete and swimmer. She has cerebral palsy and competes in the F37 category for the physically impaired. Competing in the 2000, 2004, and 2008 Summer Paralympics, she won two silver and two bronze medals, and in the 2006 World Championships, she won a gold and a silver medal. In the 2006 championships, she set a world record for discus in her classification, and was named 2006 Telstra Female AWD Athlete of the Year by Athletics Australia. Fraser now works as a personal trainer, working with people unfamiliar to a gym environment, especially women. She believes it is important for women to feel empowered and she aims to help them develop their mental and physical strength. Justin Eveson
Justin Cain Eveson, OAM (born 10 June 1980) is an Australian swimmer and wheelchair basketball player who has won Paralympic medals in both sports. Personal Eveson was born on 10 June 1980, and is from the Perth suburb of Victoria Park. In 1993, when he was 12 years old, his right leg was amputated below the knee after a lawn aerating machine accident. Prior to his accident, he had played basketball. In 2010, he was the patron for the Australian University Games. He works as a fitness instructor, and his personal hero is his father. He also serves as the Membership and Participation Officer for Wheelchair Sports Western Australia. Outside of competitive basketball and swimming, he plays golf. Craig Elliott
Craig Elliott (born July 13, 1971) is an illustrator, visual development artist and layout artist who works in the animation industry. After graduating from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California in 1996, he went on to work on numerous films for Disney Feature Animation, DreamWorks, Nickelodeon and Fox Animation Studios. Joe Egan (Paralympian)
Joseph Stephen Egan (born 31 October 1953) is an Australian athlete and volleyball player, who has won five medals at four Paralympics from 1980 to 2000. Personal Egan was born on 31 October 1953. He was a keen sportsman during his youth, competing in sprinting, hurdling, and both rugby union and rugby league, the latter for South Sydney. His right leg was amputated below the knee after a 1971 motorcycle accident. In 1999 he founded Dynamicaxtion (later named ProsMedix), a company based on the New South Wales Central Coast that makes prosthetic limbs. He has a patent for a "Method of construction of moulded products" with Wong Cheng-Hing. Michael Dow
Michael Dow is an Australian Paralympic swimmer and weightlifter who won two gold, two silver and a bronze medal at the 1964 Summer Paralympics. He was one of only two Victorian athletes selected to compete at these games. Biography Dow contracted poliomyelitis at 4 years of age while living with his family in Borneo. The family moved to Venezuela in 1954 and returned to Melbourne Victoria in 1959. His interest in sport developed through newspapers, that included articles about sporting opportunities for disabled people and achievements of people with spinal cord injuries. Lorraine Dodd
Lorraine McCoulough-Fry (née Dodd) (6 September 1944 – 26 November 2004) was an Australian Paralympic swimmer, athlete and table tennis player. Personal Dodd was born in the Perth suburb of Subiaco on 6 September 1944, as the youngest of five children. She became a paraplegic at the age of 13 after contracting transverse myelitis, which confined her to a wheelchair. After contracting the disease, she undertook rehabilitation which included archery and swimming at the Royal Perth Hospital Shenton Park Annexe. This was the start of her sporting career. After treatment at the hospital, she returned to school at Mount Lawley High School and then passed the Junior Examination at the University of Western Australia. in 1966, she met Ian McCoulough-Fry after he was admitted to the Shenton Park annex of Royal Perth Hospital after an accident in a bakery where he was working .
