Mosque
A mosque (; from ar, مَسْجِد, masjid, ; literally "place of ritual prostration"), also called masjid, is a place of prayer for Muslims. Mosques are usually covered buildings, but can be any place where prayers ( sujud) are performed, including outdoor courtyards. The first mosques were simple places of prayer for Muslims, and may have been open spaces rather than buildings. In the first stage of Islamic architecture, 650-750 CE, early mosques comprised open and closed covered spaces enclosed by walls, often with minarets from which calls to prayer were issued. Mosque buildings typically contain an ornamental niche ('' mihrab'') set into the wall that indicates the direction of Mecca (''qiblah''), Wudu, ablution facilities. As-Sajadah Mosque
As-Sajadah Mosque ( ar, مسجد السجدة), also known as Asy-Syukr Mosque or Abi Dzar Mosque, is a mosque located 900 meters north of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina, Saudi Arabia. The mosque is called "As-Sajadah" meaning "the prostration" because of an account of the Islamic prophet Muhammad prostrating here after hearing a good news from Gabriel regarding salawat. Today, it is better known as Abi Dzar Mosque because it is on Abi Dzar street. It has been renovated and expanded in 2000. As-Sabaq Mosque
As-Sabaq Mosque ( ar, مسجد السبق), was a mosque located in Medina, Saudi Arabia, and it was located north-west of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, near the SAPTCO (Saudi Public Transport Company) station. The place was originally a place for horse racing during the time of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. The Anbariya Mosque ( ar, مسجد العنبرية, Masjid al-‘Anbarīyah; tr, Amberiye Mescidi), also known as the Hamidiye Mosque, is a mosque built by the Ottoman Turks in Medina, which is nowadays part of Saudi Arabia. Al-Rayah Mosque
Al-Rayah Mosque ( ar, مسجد الراية, lit=Mosque of the flag), or Dzubab Mosque, is a mosque located in Medina, Saudi Arabia. The mosque is situated on top of Mount Dzubab (Dzubab means "flies"), and this area is not far from Mount Sala' on the south, Al-'Uyun street on the left hand side, and Az-Zugaibi gas station between Al-'Uyun street and Sulthanah street on the behind. It is narrated that there was a command post (tent/shade) pitched for Prophet Muhammad in this area at the time of the Battle of the Trench, so it was named as Al-Rayah, which means battle flag. The mosque is also called the Dzubab Mosque because it is attributed to a Yemeni man who came to Medina during the time of Governor Marwan bin al-Hakam and killed one of the government officials.
