The Watan Party of Afghanistan ( prs, حزب وطن افغانستان, ''Hezeb-e Vâtân-e Afqanustan'') is a social democratic political party in Afghanistan. The party describes itself as "national and democratic, progressive and reformist". History The party was founded in exile during the time of the Taliban regime on 28 June 1997 in Munich, Germany, and has members inside the country where it is not officially registered. It considers itself a continuation of the leftist ideas of Mohammad Najibullah and his Democratic Watan Party of Afghanistan, which was established in 1990 as the successor to the ruling People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA). Katrin Sjögren (born 2 February 1966) is a Finland, Finnish politician from Åland. She served as the Government of Åland#List of Premiers of Åland (1922–present), Premier of Åland, a position she held from 25 November 2015 to 25 November 2019. She has also been the leader of the Liberals for Åland party since 2012. Elected to the Parliament of Åland in 2003, Sjögren previously was Government of Åland, Minister of Social Affairs and Environment between 2007 and 2011. Non-aligned Coalition ( sv, Obunden Samling) is a conservative political party on the Åland Islands. It was founded in 1987. At the 2003 elections, the party won 9.4% of popular votes and 3 out of 30 seats. In the 2007 Ålandic legislative election, the party won 11.9% of the popular vote and 4 out of 30 seats. In 2013 it was announced that the party would merge with the Moderates.
