The Allies of World War I, Entente Powers, or Allied Powers were a coalition of countries led by France, the United Kingdom, Russia, Italy, Japan, and the United States against the Central Powers of Germany, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, Bulgaria, and their colonies during the First World War (1914–1918). By the end of the first decade of the 20th century, the major European powers were divided between the Triple Entente and the Triple Alliance. The Triple Entente was made up of France, Britain, and Russia. The Triple Alliance was originally composed of Germany, Austria–Hungary, and Italy, but Italy remained neutral in 1914. As the war progressed, each coalition added new members. Japan joined the Entente in 1914 and after proclaiming its neutrality at the beginning of the war, Italy also joined the Entente in 1915. The Deperdussin TT was a French monoplane built by ''Société Pour les Appareils Deperdussin'', later to become S.P.A.D. The de Bruyère C 1 was a prototype French single seat pusher canard Fighter of unusual design produced during World War I. The sole example built crashed on its first flight, and development terminated. The Caudron 02 was a French high altitude single seat fighter that was flown in November 1917. Design and development The proper name and even the existence of this aircraft have been disputed in the past, but plans for the Type 02 high altitude fighter aircraft have since been found in the French Musée de l'Air. Caudron Type J
The Caudron J Marine was an amphibious, two-seat, biplane equipped with floats and wheels, similar to the earlier Caudron J floatplane. The Caudron J was essentially a seaplane version of the two-seat Caudron G and single-seat Caudron F. The F, G and J all followed a similar layout with 2½ bay biplane wings, a tail-unit, with single fin and rudder, supported on struts attached to the wings at the first inter-plane struts and a central fuselage nacelle housing the cockpit and mounting the tractor engine.
