A member of parliament (MP) is the representative in parliament of the people who live in their electoral district. In many countries with bicameral parliaments, this term refers only to members of the lower house since upper house members often have a different title. The terms congressman/congresswoman or deputy are equivalent terms used in other jurisdictions. Jason Azzopardi
Jason Azzopardi (born 1971, Malta) is a Maltese politician and lawyer. He graduated as Doctor of Laws with a master's degree in financial services from the University of Malta in 1996 and that year he started practicing as a private criminal lawyer in the courts of Malta. Political career Azzopardi was first elected to the Maltese Parliament in 1998 and subsequently re-elected in 2003, 2008, and 2013, and 2017 as a member of the Maltese Nationalist Party. Chris Said (born July 10, 1970) is a Nationalist Party politician from Malta. Personal life Said was born in Nadur, Gozo. He is a lawyer by profession, having graduated with a Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta. Said is married to Linda, née Attard, and has three children: Anastasia, Andrea, and Benjamin. Politics He was a mayor of his home town, Nadur. His brothers Charles and Edward have also occupied the position. He is the son of former president Guido de Marco and is a former deputy leader for parliamentary affairs of the Nationalist Party. Carmelo "Carm" Mifsud Bonnici (born 17 February 1960) is a Maltese politician who has served in a number of Ministerial posts in the Government of Malta. Background, education and family Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici, the son of former President Ugo Mifsud Bonnici, was born in Floriana on 17 February 1960. He was educated at St. Aloysius' College, Birkirkara, then at De La Salle College in Cospicua. Bonnici is a distant relative of former Labour Prime Minister Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici.
