Members of Parliament (Swedish: ''riksdagsledamöter'', singular: ''riksdagsledamot'') in Sweden sit in the Riksdag. Description ''Members of Parliament'' refers to the elected members of the Riksdag. In Swedish, an MP is usually referred to as a ''riksdagsledamot'' (''member of the Riksdag'') or a ''riksdagsman'' (''Gentleman of the Riksdag''). The former is in more common use today, especially in official contexts, due to its status as a unisex word, while the latter was used more often historically and literally refers to a male MP exclusively. The parliament is a unicameral assembly with 349 members who are chosen every four years in general elections. To become an MP, a person must be entitled to vote (i.e. be a Swedish citizen, be at least 18 years old and be or have been resident in Sweden) and must be nominated by a political party. Östergötland County (Riksdag Constituency)
Östergötland County ( sv, Östergötlands Län) is one of the 29 multi-member constituencies of the Riksdag, the national legislature of Sweden. The constituency was established in 1970 when the Riksdag changed from a bicameral legislature to a unicameral legislature. It is conterminous with the county of Östergötland. The constituency currently elects 14 of the 349 members of the Riksdag using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2022 general election it had 356,210 registered electors. Anders Hansson (born February 18, 1976), is a Swedish politician of the Moderate Party. He has been a member of the Riksdag since 2006. He is currently taking up seat number 12 in the Riksdag for the constituency of Skåne Southern. Committee work and Politics As a newly elected member of the Riksdag in 2006, Hansson became an alternate for the Justice committee and the Industry and Trade committee. During the spring of 2008, Hansson was even an alternate for the Joint Committee on Justice and Social Affairs. Hanna Westerén
Hanna Carolina Westerén (born 23 September 1981) is a Swedish politician and member of the Riksdag for the Swedish Social Democratic Party. She is currently taking up seat number 13 in the Riksdag for the constituency of Gotland County. Since 2018 she has been a member of the Committee on Environment and Agriculture.
