Mostafizur Rahman Fizar (born 29 November 1953) is a Bangladeshi politician who was the minister for Primary and Mass Education and a member of parliament of Bangladesh since 1986. He formerly served as the State Minister for the Ministry of Environment and Forest and later took over the Ministry of Land as State Minister, from 31 July 2009 to 21 November 2013. Early life Fizar was born at Phulbari Upazila in Dinajpur District on 29 November 1953. He finished his SSC from the Sujapur High School and HSC in 1970 from Phulbari College. He fought in Sector-7 of the Bangladesh Liberation war in 1971. Bangladesh Krishak Sramik Awami League (BaKSAL) ( bn, বাংলাদেশ কৃষক শ্রমিক আওয়ামী লীগ "Bangladesh Worker-Peasant's People's League"; বাকশাল) was a political front comprising Bangladesh Awami League, Communist Party of Bangladesh, National Awami Party (Muzaffar) and Jatiyo League. Following the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution of Bangladesh, enacted on 25 January 1975, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman formed BaKSAL on 24 February. In addition, with the presidential order, all other political parties were outlawed with the formation of BaKSAL.
