Yevhen Petrovych Kushnaryov ( uk, Євген Петрович Кушнарьов, ) (January 29, 1951 – January 17, 2007) was a prominent Ukrainian politician of the post-Soviet era. Kushnaryov was considered one of the chief ideologues of the Party of Regions and a key ally of Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych. Early life Yevhen Kushnaryov was born in Kharkiv to migrants from Russia in 1951. He graduated from the Kharkiv Engineering-Construction Institute in 1973, and for several years thereafter worked at a local factory of concrete and steel manufacturing. Political career Kushnaryov became a member of the Communist Party in 1981. In 1989, during the Glasnost era, he joined the pro-democracy movement in the Ukrainian SSR. Vasiliy Kuzmich Averin (russian: Васи́лий Кузьмич Аве́рин; 1884 – 28 December 1945) was a Russian Bolshevik revolutionary, a leading member of the Cheka and a member of the Soviet government in Ukraine. Biography Averin was born in 1884 or 1885 near Rognedino in the Roslavlsky Uyezd of the Smolensk Governorate of the Russian Empire (today Rognedinsky District, Bryansk Oblast, Russia) in a poor peasant family. In 1903 he joined the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party and in 1904 sided with Bolsheviks. Averin was uneducated and worked as a mechanic. Averin began his revolutionary career in Ekaterinoslav, where in October 1905 he headed a factory committee of the RSDLP. Andriy Vasylyovych Ivanov ( uk, Андрій Васильович Іванов) (October 28, 1888 – June 10, 1927) was a Russian-Ukrainian, Communist Party activist and politician. Ivanov was born in a village of Kukshevo, Imperial Russia (now in Kostroma Oblast, Russia). In 1906, he became a member of the Bolshevik faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party and was a party worker in Vladimir Governorate and Moscow city. In 1916, he worked at the Kiev Arsenal factory as the party agitator.
