To appear on the list, the album must have been officially released at least a decade (to the day) after their predecessor. Studio Albums
An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as digital distribution. Albums of recorded sound were developed in the early 20th century as individual 78 rpm records collected in a bound book resembling a photograph album; this format evolved after 1948 into single vinyl long-playing (LP) records played at rpm. The album was the dominant form of recorded music expression and consumption from the mid-1960s to the early 21st century, a period known as the album era. Vinyl LPs are still issued, though album sales in the 21st-century have mostly focused on CD and MP3 formats. Shakti (band)
Shakti were a fusion band formed by English guitarist John McLaughlin (musician), John McLaughlin, Indian violin player L. Shankar, percussionists Zakir Hussain (musician), Zakir Hussain (on tabla) and T. H. "Vikku" Vinayakram (on Ghatam) in 1974. The band played acoustic Jazz fusion, fusion music which combined India, Indian music with elements of jazz. The band's Hindi name means, in English, "creative intelligence, beauty, and power." In addition to fusing American and Indian music, Shakti also represented a fusion of the Hindustani classical music, Hindustani and Carnatic music traditions, since Hussain is from the north region of India while the other Indian members are from the South. ''Good Morning Starshine'' is the fourth album by American psychedelic rock band Strawberry Alarm Clock, released in 1969 on Uni Records (''see'' 1969 in music). It featured a considerably altered lineup and a departure from the sound on the group's past psychedelic pop works, toward blues rock. The album itself failed to chart, but a single, "Good Morning Starshine", peaked in the lower reaches of the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Strawberry Alarm Clock is a psychedelic rock band formed in 1967 with origins in Glendale, California, a city about ten miles north of downtown Los Angeles. They are best known for their 1967 hit single "Incense and Peppermints". Categorized as acid rock, psychedelic pop and sunshine pop, they charted five songs, including two Top 40 hits. ''Inspiration Information'' is the third album by Shuggie Otis, who produced it and performed most of its instrumental parts. Released in 1974 on Epic Records, it reached number 181 on '' Billboards Top 200 Pop Albums list, and its title track also reached number 56 on the U.S. R&B singles chart. The album was reissued in 2001 on the label Luaka Bop, receiving widespread acclaim. Recording ''Inspiration Information'' was Otis' debut project as both an adult and a producer, having been a teenager backed on his two previous solo efforts by his father, R&B pioneer Johnny Otis. His relationship with Epic came under heavy scrutiny as he would take three years to finish ''Inspiration'' and fulfill his three-album contract; this would be the final release of Otis on the Epic label. ''Parallelograms'' is an album by American psychedelic folk singer Linda Perhacs. It was produced by Leonard Rosenman. Her first and only album until the release of ''The Soul of All Natural Things'' in 2014, it was all but completely ignored when originally released on Kapp Records in 1970. Discouraged by the lack of commercial attention and the label's reluctance to promote the album, Perhacs returned to her career as a dental hygienist. In the 30 or so years that followed, the album gradually developed a cult following. Reissues Folk label the Wild Places, which first reissued the album from a vinyl source in 1998, spent two years attempting to find Perhacs before contacting her in 2000, leading to a reissue of ''Parallelograms'' on CD and double LP in 2003. Fanny (band)
Fanny was an American rock band, active in the early to mid 1970s. They were one of the first all-female rock groups to achieve critical and commercial success, including two ''Billboard'' Hot 100 Top 40 singles. The group was founded by guitarist June Millington and her sister, bassist Jean, who had been playing music together since they moved from the Philippines to California in the early 1960s. After playing through several variations of the band, they attracted the interest of producer Richard Perry who signed them to Reprise Records in 1969 as Fanny. The band recorded four albums together before June Millington quit the group, leading to the original line-up splitting. Following a final album, Fanny disbanded in 1975. The Blues Magoos are an American rock group from The Bronx, a borough of New York City, United States. They were at the forefront of the psychedelic music trend, beginning in 1966. They are best known for the hit song " (We Ain't Got) Nothin' Yet". History 1964–1971 The band was formed in 1964 as The Trenchcoats. ''The Fetch'' is the second album by Linda Hoyle, released by Angel Air on 7 August 2015. The album was produced by her long time friend and former bandmate Mo Foster. On 29 June 2015 Hoyle released a promotional video for the album's first track, "The Fetch". Background Although Hoyle and Foster had remained good friends since working together in the early 1970s, it was not until 40 years later that they decided to write and record together again. The impetus for this was a performance (released as ''The Baskervilles Reunion 2011'') at Sussex University's 50th anniversary celebration. Ave Sangria is a Brazilian rock band and one of the leading names of the 1970s psychedelic music scene of Pernambuco, along with Alceu Valença, Flaviola e O Bando do Sol, Lula Côrtes, Marconi Notaro and Lailson. In 1968, bassist Almir de Oliveira met singer Marco Polo and together they became the band's songwriters.
