The Córdoba Public Library is a public library located in Córdoba, Spain. The Public Library of the State - Provincial Public Library of Córdoba is a center of state ownership managed by the Ministry of Culture of thJunta de Andalucíaand integrated into the Andalusian System of Libraries and the Spanish Library System. In 1984, the Ministry of Culture transferred its management to the Junta de Andalucía, although the ownership of the buildings and bibliographic funds continue to belong to the State. The University of Salamanca ( es, Universidad de Salamanca) is a Spanish higher education institution, located in the city of Salamanca, in the autonomous community of Castile and León. It was founded in 1218 by King Alfonso IX. It is the oldest university in the Hispanic world and one of the oldest in the world in continuous operation. It has over 30,000 students from 50 different nationalities. History Prior to the foundation of the university, Salamanca was home to a cathedral school, known to have been in existence by 1130. Toledo Public Library (Spain)
Toledo Lucas County Public Library is a public library system located in Toledo, Ohio. History Founded in December 1838, it was Ohio's first public library created with tax money. There were sixty-six charter members in the association's subscription library. Members paid an annual fee of two dollars. The Ohio General Assembly granted a charter to the Young Men's Association of Toledo for a "lyceum and public library." In 1864, Republican members broke off from the Young Men's Association Library and formed the Toledo Library Association. The Librarian was Thomas Blackwell. In 1867, the two groups merged. The Public Library of Valencia is the main library of the city of Valencia. As an institution, it was founded in 1838. However, it was not until 1979 when it was relocated to its present location, the main building of the former Hospital for the Poor Innocents. The Public Library of Lleida (Catalan: ''Biblioteca Pública de Lleida''), also formerly called Biblioteca Pública de la Maternitat, is a public library in the city of Lleida (Catalonia, Spain). Its legal owner is the Generalitat de Catalunya. The building was originally a 19th-century ''maternity house'', that is, an orphanage located in the Rambla d'Aragó and has operated as the town's main library since 1998, when it was heavily reformed.
