List Of Leaders Of The Kuomintang
The Chairman of the Kuomintang is the leader of the Kuomintang in the Republic of China. The position used to be titled as President (1912–1914), Premier (1919–1925), Chairman of the Central Executive Committee (1925–1938), Director-General (1938–1975), and Chairman (from 1975). The post is currently held by Eric Chu, who assumed the post on 5 October 2021, following the tenth direct election of the party leadership. The Chairman is now directly elected by party members for a term of four years and may be re-elected for a second term. Chiang Ching-kuo
Chiang Ching-kuo (27 April 1910 – 13 January 1988) was a politician of the Republic of China after its retreat to Taiwan. The eldest and only biological son of former president Chiang Kai-shek, he held numerous posts in the government of the Republic of China and ended martial law in 1987. He served as Premier of the Republic of China between 1972 and 1978, and was President of the Republic of China from 1978 until his death in 1988. Born in Zhejiang, Chiang-kuo was sent as a teenager to study in the Soviet Union during the First United Front in 1925, when his father's Nationalist Party and the Chinese Communist Party were in alliance. He attended university there and spoke Russian fluently, but when the Chinese Nationalists violently broke with the Communists, Stalin sent him to work in a steel factory in the Ural Mountains. 10th National Congress Of The Kuomintang
The 10th National Congress of the Kuomintang () was the tenth national congress of the Kuomintang, held between 29 March to 9 April, 1969 in Chung-Shan Building, Beitou District, Taipei, Nationalist China. Results KMT Director-General Chiang Kai-shek spoke to more than 1,200 delegates and observers from Taiwan, Mainland China and overseas communities around the world. He provided guidance of discussion and debate. KMT made final plans for the last stage of struggle against Mao Zedong and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to liberate the 700 million Chinese in the mainland and to assure peace in Asia and the world. KMT Secretary-General Chang Pao-shu said that the congress came at a time when the Republic of China was intensifying preparations for the retaking back of the Mainland as the CCP government stood at the brink of collapse due to Great Leap Forward.
