Below is a list of the largest exoplanets so far discovered, in terms of physical size, ordered by radius. Caveats This list of extrasolar objects may and will change over time because of inconsistency between journals, different methods used to examine these objects and the already extremely hard task of discovering exoplanets, or any other large objects for that matter. Then there is the fact that these objects might be brown dwarfs, sub-brown dwarfs, or not exist at all. Because of this, this list only cites the best measurements to date and is prone to change. Remember, these objects are not stars, and are quite small on a universal or even stellar scale. List The sizes are listed in units of Jupiter radii (71,492 km). ROXs 42Bb
ROXs 42Bb is a directly imaged planetary-mass companion to the binary M star ROXs 42B, a likely member of the Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex. The companion was announced/discovered on October 17, 2013 by University of Toronto astronomer Thayne Currie. The object has an estimated mass around 9 Jupiter masses, depending on the age of the star, similar to the masses of directly imaged planets around HR 8799 and beta Pictoris. However, it is unclear whether ROXs 42Bb formed like these planets via core accretion, formed by disk (gravitational) instability, or formed more like a binary star. Preliminary fits of the spectra and broadband photometry to atmospheric models imply an effective temperature of about 2,000 K for a radius of or about 2150 K for a radius of . HAT-P-41b
HAT-P-41 is a binary star system. Its primary is a F-type main-sequence star. Its surface temperature is 6390 K. compared to the Sun, HAT-P-41 is enriched in heavy elements, with a metallicity Fe/H index of 0.21, but is much younger at an age of 2.2 billion years. The candidate stellar companion was detected simultaneously with the planet discovery in 2012. A multiplicity survey in 2015 did confirm a dim stellar companion of later-K to early-M spectral class, with the probability of being a background star of 14%. By 2020, it was concluded the candidate companion star is probably gravitationally bound. XO-6b
XO-6b is a transiting exoplanet, a hot Jupiter, orbiting the star XO-6 around 760 Light Years (230 Parsecs) away from Earth. It was discovered in 2016 by the XO planet search team. Physical properties XO-6b is one of the puffiest planets ever discovered, with a maximum mass of 4.4 times of Jupiter. It is up to twice as wide, making it one of the largest exoplanets ever found (see list of largest exoplanets). Later estimates, however, make it around two times the mass of Jupiter. XO-6b has a tight orbit, which means a year on it is only about 4 days. XO-6 is slightly more than one tenth as far from its host star as Mercury is to the sun.
