This is a list of journalists killed during the Balochistan conflict. The conflict has been going on since 1947, but since 2001, 28–33 journalists have been killed and between 2009 and 2012 at over 23 journalists have been killed. Baloch Liberation Front
The Balochistan Liberation Front ( ur, بلوچستان لبریشن فرنٹ; BLF) is a militant group operating in the Balochistan region of southwestern Asia. The group was founded by Jumma Khan in 1964 in Damascus, and played an important role in the 1968–1973 insurgency in Sistan and Baluchestan province of Iran and 1973–1977 insurgency in Balochistan province of Pakistan. However, the group's insurgency was defeated in both Pakistan and Iran and the status of the group became unknown until 2004. The group re-emerged in 2004 after Allah Nazar Baloch took command of the group in 2003. Since then the group has taken responsibility for attacks on civilians, journalists, government officials and military personnel. Sajid Hussain (journalist)
Sajid Hussain (16 January 1981 – 2020) was a Pakistani journalist and the founder and chief editor of the online news site, the Balochistan Times. He went missing on 2 March 2020 and his body was found in the Fyris River on 23 April 2020. Swedish police ruled out any foul play, ruling that cause of death was drowning. An autopsy indicated that he died either by suicide or an accident. Background Hussain was an ethnic Baloch. He started his journalist career in the Pakistani newspapers, including '' Daily Times'' and ''The News International.'' In 2012, he wrote a series of reports on "enforced disappearances and human rights violations in Balochistan". Following a police raid, interrogations and alleged death threats, he fled the country, sought political asylum and lived in exile in Sweden since 2017. Attack On The Online International News Network
The attack on the Online International News Network was an attack on the office of the news agency, located in Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan, on August 28, 2014, that resulted in the killing of journalists Irshad Mastoi and Ghulam Rasool, as well as accountant Mohammed Younus. Attack On August 28 two gunmen broke into Mastoi's office, located on the second story of the Kabirwala Building, on Jinnah Road in downtown Quetta. Senior journalist Mastio and two others were gunned down by a 9 mm. The other victims were trainee reporter Ghulam Rasool, also known as Abdul Rasul, and accountant Mohammed Younus. Haji Abdul Razzaq Baloch, also known as Haji Razak, (ca. 1971-1978 – 21 August 2013) was a copy editor/sub editor at nationalist newspaper ''Daily Tawar'' (Voice). Abdul Haq Baloch, also known as Abdul Baloch (August 12, 1978 – September 29, 2012), was a Pakistani TV journalist for the broadcast station ARY Television, in Khuzdar, Khuzdar District, Balochistan Province, Pakistan.
