This is a list of international cricket grounds in India that have hosted at least one international cricket match (Test, ODI or T20I). India has 53 international cricket venues, the most in any country - 30 more than the next most: England with 23. International cricket was held in India for the first time in December 1933 when the Gymkhana Ground in Bombay played host to the India-England Test match. The first ODI match in India was held at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad in 1981. The first T20I match in India was held at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai in 2007. International cricket matches are played between teams representing their nations, normally organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The main forms are Test matches, One-Day matches and Twenty20 matches. Most games are played as parts of "tours", when one nation travels to another for a number of weeks or months and plays a number of matches of various sorts against the host nation. The ICC also organises competitions that are for several countries at once, including the Cricket World Cup & ICC T20 World Cup. Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium is a cricket stadium situated in the city of Pune, India besides the Pune Mumbai Expressway nestled between the hills of the Western Ghats. It is the home venue for the Maharashtra cricket team and is the headquarters of the Maharashtra Cricket Association. This stadium is situated on the outskirts of city limit of Pune in Gahunje Village. Before existence of this arena, Nehru Stadium of downtown Pune was the home ground of Maharashtra Cricket team. JSCA International Stadium Complex formally known as (Jharkhand State Cricket Association International Cricket Stadium), and also known as Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium, is an international cricket stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium , also known as New VCA Stadium, is a cricket ground in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. It is the largest cricket stadium in India in terms of field area. The ground, located at Jamtha on the southern outskirts of Nagpur, was inaugurated in 2008, replacing the old Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground as the city's main stadium. The qualities of the stadium have been praised by the International Cricket Council. VCA Stadium is the home ground for the Vidarbha and Central Zone teams for the domestic Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy tournaments, respectively. The Inderjit Singh Bindra Stadium is a cricket ground located in Mohali, Punjab. It is popularly referred to as the Mohali Stadium. Green Park Stadium is an international standards cricket stadium of Kanpur, India. Its seating capacity is 32,000 seats. It is the home ground of Uttar Pradesh cricket team. Arun Jaitley Ground
The Arun Jaitley Stadium is a cricket stadium owned and operated the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) and located on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi. It was established in 1883 as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, and named after the nearby Kotla fort. It is the second oldest functional international cricket stadium in India, after the Eden Gardens of Kolkata. As of 25 October 2019, it has hosted 34 Tests, 25 ODIs and 6 T20I. In a 2017 felicitation ceremony, the DDCA named four stands of the stadium after former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi, former India all-rounder Mohinder Amarnath, former India and Delhi opener Gautam Gambhir.
