Chashma Barrage
Chashma Barrage is a barrage on the River Indus in Mianwali District of the Punjab province of Pakistan 304 km NW of Lahore and 56 km downstream of Jinnah Barrage. The contract for Chashma Barrage works was awarded on 10 February 1967 to French Consortium Société Dumez and Société Borie and was successfully completed by 25 March 1971. The total cost of Chashma Barrage works was Rs.399 million but power generation started later in 2001. The installed capacity of power Station is 184 MW, from eight Kaplan-type bulb turbine units, each with a 23 MW capacity. The bulb turbines have been installed for the first time in Pakistan. The first unit was commissioned in January 2001, while final commissioning of all units was completed in July 2001. Tarbela
Tarbela ( pnb, ) or Torbela ( ps, توربېلا) is one of the 44 union councils, administrative subdivision, of Haripur District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The name comes from the words ''tor'' (Pashto for "black") and ''bela'' (Punjabi/Hindko for "forest"). Tarbela Dam
Tarbela Dam (, ) is an earth-filled dam along the Indus River in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Located mainly in the Swabi district of the province, The dam is about from the city of Swabi, northwest of Islamabad, and east of Peshawar. It is the largest earth-filled dam in the world. Chitral Hydel Power
Chitral hydel power is a hydroelectric power station which is located on the right bank of Lutkho river and 5 Km upstream of Chitral city. The flow of Lutkho river was diverted by a 3.72 Km long channel. The power station is equipped with 2 units of 200 kW and 2 units of 300 kW each to cumulatively generate 1 MW of electricity. The power generated from the power station is being provided to the Chitral city through an 11 kV transmission line. The project was commissioned in 1975. Mangla Dam
The Mangla Dam ( ur, ) is a multipurpose dam situated on the Jhelum River in the Mirpur District of Azad Kashmir. It is the sixth-largest dam in the world. The village of Mangla, which sits at the mouth of the dam, serves as its namesake.
