List Of Francophone Communities In Manitoba
This is a list of francophone communities in Manitoba. Municipalities with a high percentage of French-speakers in the Canadian province of Manitoba are listed. The provincial average of Manitobans whose mother tongue is French is 2.8%, with a total of 36,740 people in Manitoba who identify French as their mother tongue in 2021. While several communities in these have sizeable French minorities, no municipalities have francophone majorities. There are several Franco-Manitoban communities throughout Manitoba, although the majority are based in either the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region or the Eastman Region. A number of small municipalities also have high francophone populations. Small francophone-minority municipalities include: Argyle (4%), Buffalo Point (7%), Ellice-Archie (15%) and Victoria Beach (4%). French Language

Rural Municipality Of Lakeshore
The Rural Municipality of Lakeshore is a rural municipality (RM) in the Parkland Region of Manitoba, Canada. Lakeshore is named for the proximity of the shoreline of Dauphin Lake, which splits the municipality into north and south. The RM is anchored on its south end by the Rainbow Beach Provincial Park on Dauphin Lake, and on its north end by Manipogo Provincial Park on Lake Manitoba. History The RM was incorporated on January 1, 2015 via the amalgamation of the RMs of Ochre River and Lawrence. It was formed as a requirement of '' The Municipal Amalgamations Act'', which required that municipalities with a population less than 1,000 amalgamate with one or more neighbouring municipalities by 2015. Rural Municipality Of Ritchot
The Rural Municipality of Ritchot (french: Municipalité rurale de Ritchot) is a rural municipality in the Winnipeg Capital Region, bordering the south side of Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada. The separately-administered town of Niverville lies adjacent to its southeast, between it and the Rural Municipality of Hanover. Powerview-Pine Falls
Powerview-Pine Falls is a town in the Canadian province of Manitoba, with a population of 1,314 at the 2011 census, up 1.54% from 1,294 at the 2006 census and down 7.57% from 1,400 during the 2001 census. The town is an amalgamation of the previous town of Powerview with the previously unincorporated area of Pine Falls, to its west. The town borders the Rural Municipality of Alexander and the Sagkeeng First Nation Indian reserve. Manitoba Highway 11 and Manitoba Provincial Road 304 are the major roads connecting Powerview with other nearby communities. History The community was created as a paper mill town in the mid 1920s as Manitoba Pulp and Paper Company. Rural Municipality Of Piney
The Rural Municipality of Piney is a rural municipality in southeastern Manitoba, Canada, along the border with Minnesota in the United States. Geography According to Statistics Canada, the municipality has a land area of 2,433.77 km2. It is bordered by the rural municipalities of Stuartburn, La Broquerie, and Reynolds, as well as the Buffalo Point 36 Indian reserve and an unorganized part of the province ( Division No. 1, Unorganized, Manitoba). Pinawa
Pinawa is a local government district and small community of 1,331 residents (2016 census) located in southeastern Manitoba, Canada. It is 110 kilometres north-east of Winnipeg. The town is situated on the Canadian Shield within the western boundary of Whiteshell Provincial Park, which lies near the Manitoba-Ontario provincial boundary. Administratively, the town includes the surrounding area, and is officially the Local Government District of Pinawa. Except for a small eastern border with the unorganized area of the Eastman Region, it is surrounded by the Rural Municipalities of Lac du Bonnet to the north and Whitemouth to the south, but is independent of either one. Niverville, Manitoba
Niverville is a town in the Eastman Region, Manitoba, Canada. The town lies between the northwest corner of the Rural Municipality of Hanover and the southeastern portion of the Rural Municipality of Ritchot. Niverville's population as of the 2021 census is 5,947, the largest town and 10th-largest community in Manitoba. History In 1874, after the establishment of the Mennonite East Reserve, William Hespeler, who had recruited Mennonites to the area, saw the opportunity to develop a rail station to supply the new Mennonite settlements, at a location selected by railway tycoon Joseph Whitehead. Morris, Manitoba
Morris is a small town in the Pembina Valley region of Manitoba, Canada, located 51 km south of Winnipeg and 42 km north of Emerson. Morris is home to 1,885 people (2016). Named after Alexander Morris, the second Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba. Highway 75, which turns into Interstate 29, is the major highway which runs from Winnipeg to Missouri. Rural Municipality Of Montcalm
Montcalm (french: Municipalité rurale de Montcalm) is a rural municipality (RM) in the province of Manitoba in Western Canada. The Canada 2016 Census reported a population of 1,260 persons, a decrease from the 1,309 reported in the 2011 Census. Geography The RM has an area of 469.41 km2 (181.24 sq mi). The Canada–United States border opposite Pembina County, North Dakota forms a small part of Montcalm's southern boundary; there is no direct road link between the RM and county. The Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation is situated between Montcalm and the neighbouring Municipality of Emerson – Franklin. Montcalm also borders the municipalities of Rhineland, De Salaberry, and Morris, as well as the eastern edge of the Town of Morris.
