State Road 6 State Road 6 ran from the Illinois state line in Munster to OH 2 east of Butler. SR 6 followed the same route as US 6 does today. It was signed before US 6 was signed in Indiana. State Road 21 State Road 21 followed the same route as US 35 does today. SR 21's first segment was decommissioned in 1965. Castleton Square
Castleton Square is an enclosed shopping mall in the Castleton neighborhood on the northeastern side of Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Built by Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation and Homart Development Company in 1972, it is owned and managed by Simon Property Group. It is the largest mall in the state of Indiana, and has remained so since its construction. The center's original anchor stores were JCPenney, Sears, Lazarus, and Woolworth. Expansions in 1990 and 1998 added to the total number of anchor and inline stores, while also adding a food court. The anchor stores are JCPenney, Forever 21, H&M, AMC Theatres, Dick's Sporting Goods, Macy's, and Von Maur; the former location of Sears has been vacant since 2018. Western Electric
The Western Electric Company was an American electrical engineering and manufacturing company officially founded in 1869. A wholly owned subsidiary of American Telephone & Telegraph for most of its lifespan, it served as the primary equipment manufacturer, supplier, and purchasing agent for the Bell System from 1881 to 1984 when it was dismantled. The company was responsible for many technological innovations as well as developments in industrial management. Eastgate, Indianapolis
Eastgate is a neighborhood on the east side of Indianapolis located within the I-465 loop, and bounded on the north by E. 16th Street, on the south by E. Washington Street, on the east by Franklin Road, and on the west by Shadeland Avenue. The neighborhood was best known as the site of the Eastgate Shopping Center (later renamed Eastgate Consumer Mall), the first mall in Indiana. In May 2008 the shopping center was sold to Lifeline Data Centers, who turned it into a colocation site. The shopping center has been converted into a data storage center, and also plays host to Indianapolis' Homeland Security Department as of Summer 2010. Boone County is a county in the U.S. state of Indiana. As of 2020, the population was 70,812. The county seat (and the county's only incorporated city) is Lebanon. Indiana State Road 431
State Road 431 was a state road connecting U.S. Route 31 with Interstate 465 at Exit 33. It passed through the Indianapolis suburb of Carmel, allowing traffic on U.S. 31 north of Carmel a shorter route to I-465 and the east side of Indianapolis. Until the 1990s, the SR 431 designation extended south of I-465 to 86th Street. Prior to that, it also continued south along N. Keystone Avenue to State Road 37 at Fall Creek Parkway, North Drive in Indianapolis. A second section of SR 431 followed the old route of U.S. 31 between Greenwood and the south side of Indianapolis. Indiana State Road 37A
State Road 37 (SR 37) is a major route in the U.S. state of Indiana, running as a four-lane divided highway for 110 miles of its course. At one time, the route ran from the southwest corner of the state to the northeast corner. In the pre-Interstate Highway era, Indiana 37 was the most direct route between Fort Wayne and Indianapolis. Interstate 69 has supplanted it as a through route, and State Road 37 now consists of two disconnected segments. The longer segment starts at Tell City on the Ohio River and ends in Marion in north central Indiana. Castleton is a neighborhood area in Lawrence and Washington townships on the northeast side of Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Location and boundaries Historically, the former Town of Castleton was platted near present-day 82nd St. and the former Nickel Plate Road, about northeast of downtown Indianapolis.
