The following is a list of the German federal highways or ''Bundesstraßen''. This does not include the autobahns. Bundesstraße 4
The Bundesstraße 4 (abbr. B4) is a German federal highway running in a northwesterly to southly direction from the state of Schleswig-Holstein to Bavaria. It provides a direct route for motorists traveling between Hamburg and Nuremberg. The section north of Hamburg is paralleled by Bundesautobahn 7 and the road is down-graded to a ''Landstraße'' (country road); the section between Hallstadt and Erlangen is paralleled by the A 70 and A 73 and is also down-graded to a ''Staatsstraße'' (state road, same as country road). The Bundesstraße 3 (abbr. B3) is one of the longest federal highways in Germany. Bundesstraße 2 R
The Bundesstraße 2R is a German federal highway (''German:'' Bundesstraße) in Bavaria. It runs as a ring road within the city of Munich in Bavaria, is long, and is the most traffic-prone road in Germany. It is called the "Middle Ring" (''German:'' Mittlerer Ring) because of its concentric position between the Altstadtring and the incomplete Outer Ring, as well as being within the Autobahnring. Traffic importance The Middle Ring is the backbone of all traffic in Munich, since the ring is the fastest connection to all major traffic axes in the city. The Bundesstraße 2 (abbr. B2) is Germany's longest federal highway, running some 1000 kilometres from the Polish border near Gartz to the Austrian border near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. From north to south; it passes through major cities such as Berlin, Potsdam, Leipzig, Gera, Bayreuth, Nuremberg, Augsburg, and Munich. It is largely paralleled by Bundesautobahn 9, and a small portion coincides with Bundesautobahn 952.
