List Of Critically Endangered Reptiles
As of September 2016, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) lists 196 critically endangered reptile species, including 17 which are tagged as ''possibly extinct''. 3.8% of all evaluated reptile species are listed as critically endangered. The IUCN also lists 12 reptile subspecies as critically endangered. Of the subpopulations of reptiles evaluated by the IUCN, ten species subpopulations have been assessed as critically endangered. Additionally 910 reptile species (18% of those evaluated) are listed as '' data deficient'', meaning there is not sufficient information for a full assessment of conservation status. As these species typically have small distributions and/or populations, they are intrinsically likely to be threatened, according to the IUCN. Cuora Galbinifrons
The Indochinese box turtle, Vietnamese box turtle, or flowerback box turtle (''Cuora galbinifrons'') is a species of Asian box turtles from China (Hainan and Guangxi), northern and central Vietnam, Laos, and possibly northeastern Cambodia. Batagur Kachuga
The red-crowned roofed turtle or Bengal roof turtle (''Batagur kachuga'') is a species of freshwater turtle endemic to South Asia. It was the type species of its former genus ''Kachuga''. Females can grow to a shell length of and weigh , but males are considerably smaller. The turtles like to bask in the sun on land. In the breeding season, the heads and necks of male turtles exhibit bright red, yellow and blue coloration. The females excavate nests in which they lay clutches of up to thirty eggs. The Geoemydidae (formerly known as Bataguridae) are one of the largest and most diverse families in the order Testudines (turtles), with about 70 species. The family includes the Eurasian pond and river turtles and Neotropical wood turtles. Members of this family are commonly called Leaf turtle. Characteristics Geoemydidae are turtles of various sizes (from about in length) with often a high degree of sexual dimorphism.
