List Of Cricketers By Number Of International Centuries Scored
This list is a compilation of total centuries scored by international cricketers, split between different formats of the game. A qualification of 15 overall centuries is used for entry onto the men's list. To date, 123 cricketers have scored 15 or more international centuries, 79 of whom went on to score 20 or more centuries. 43 have scored 30 or more centuries and 18 have a total of 40 or more centuries. Across all three formats, eight players have scored 50 or more centuries, five have scored 60 or more centuries and three have scored 70 or more centuries in their respective international careers. Five centuries is used as the qualifying standard for the women's list; to date, 24 players have reached this mark. In cricket, a century is a score of 100 or more runs in a single innings by a batsman. The term is also included in "century partnership" which occurs when two batsmen add 100 runs to the team total when they are batting together. A century is regarded as a landmark score for batsmen and a player's number of centuries is generally recorded in their career statistics. Scoring a century is loosely equivalent in merit to a bowler taking a five-wicket haul, and is commonly referred to as a ton or hundred. Scores of more than 200 runs are still statistically counted as a century, although these scores are referred to as double (200–299 runs), triple (300–399 runs), and quadruple centuries (400–499 runs), and so on.
