The Adventures Of Captain Hatteras
''The Adventures of Captain Hatteras'' (french: Voyages et aventures du capitaine Hatteras) is an adventure novel by Jules Verne in two parts: ''The English at the North Pole'' (french: Les Anglais au pôle nord) and ''The Desert of Ice'' (french: Le Désert de glace). The novel was published for the first time in 1864. The definitive version from 1866 was included in the ''Voyages extraordinaires'' series ("The Extraordinary Voyages"). Although it was the first book of the series, it was labelled as number two. Three of Verne's books from 1863–65 (''Five Weeks in a Balloon'', '' Journey to the Centre of the Earth'', and ''From the Earth to the Moon'') were added into the series retroactively. ''The Adventures of Mark Twain'' (released in the United Kingdom as ''Comet Quest'') is a 1985 American stop motion claymation fantasy film directed by Will Vinton and starring James Whitmore. It received a limited theatrical release in May 1985. It was released on DVD in January 2006, and again as a collector's edition in 2012 on DVD and Blu-ray. The film features a series of vignettes extracted from several of Mark Twain's works, built around a plot that features Twain's attempts to keep his "appointment" with Halley's Comet. Inna Vetkina wrote the screenplay for ''The Adventures of Buratino'', as well as several other films directed by Nechayev. The plot of the film follows Buratino (Italian for " puppet"), a boy made of wood, who meets the children of Karabas Barabas' theatre and sets out to free them. ''Pinocchio in Outer Space'' is a 1965 Belgian-American animated science-fantasy film which sets Carlo Collodi's Pinocchio character on a rocketship adventure. Carlo Lorenzini (24 November 1826 – 26 October 1890), better known by the pen name Carlo Collodi (), was an Italian author, humourist, and journalist, widely known for his fairy tale novel ''The Adventures of Pinocchio''. Early life Collodi was born in Florence on 24 November 1826. His mother, Angiolina Orzali Lorenzini, was a seamstress from Collodi, the town from which he later took the pen name, and his father, Domenico Lorenzini, was a cook. Both parents worked for the ' Ginori Lisci. Carlo was the eldest child in the family and he had ten siblings but seven died at a young age. He spent most of his childhood in the town of Collodi where his mother was born. He lived there with his maternal grandmother.
