The Caribbean Series (''Spanish'': ''Serie del Caribe''), also called Caribbean World Series, is the highest tournament for professional baseball teams in Latin America. The tournament location is rotated annually among the countries and is normally played in February after all of the leagues have ended their national tournaments. George Altman
George Lee Altman (born March 20, 1933) is an American former professional baseball outfielder who had a lengthy career in both Major League Baseball and Nippon Professional Baseball. A three-time National League All-Star, he appeared in 991 games over nine full seasons in the major leagues. Then, at age 35, he began an eight-year tenure in Japanese baseball, where he would hit 205 home runs and bat .309 with 985 hits. Erick Johan Aybar (born January 14, 1984) is a Dominican professional baseball shortstop who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers and San Diego Padres. Professional career Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Aybar was signed by the then Anaheim Angels as an amateur free agent in 2002. He made his professional debut with the rookie ball Provo Angels. Ramón Avilés
Ramón Antonio Avilés Miranda (January 22, 1952 – January 27, 2020) was a Puerto Rican backup infielder in Major League Baseball who played for the Boston Red Sox (1977) and Philadelphia Phillies (1979–1981). He batted and threw right-handed. In a four-season career, totalling 117 games played, Avilés posted a .268 batting average (51-for-190) with two home runs and 24 runs batted in. Avilés is the uncle of Mike Avilés, a former major league infielder. He managed Los Criollos de Caguas and Los Gigantes de Carolina after moving back to Puerto Rico. Robert Thomas Aspromonte (born June 19, 1938) is an American former professional baseball player and business entrepreneur. He played as a third baseman in Major League Baseball in and then from to , most prominently as a member of the newly formed Houston Colt .45s expansion team where, he became the regular third baseman for the first seven seasons of the young franchise (which would later change the name to Astros). As well as being the first-ever batter for Houston, he was also the last Brooklyn Dodger to appear in a major league game. He also played for the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets. After his athletic career, he went on to become a successful businessman in Houston, Texas. In 2019, Aspromonte was among the inaugural class of inductees to the Houston Astros Hall of Fame. Antonio Rafael Armas Machado (born July 2, 1953) is a Venezuelan former professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) as an outfielder from 1976 to 1989. He is the father of pitcher Tony Armas Jr. and the older brother of outfielder Marcos Armas. Armas Sr. was one of the top power hitters in the American League in the early 1980s. Twice he led the American League in home runs, and topped all of Major League Baseball in runs batted in during the season. He was, however, prone to injuries that affected his career. Luis Eduardo Aponte Yuripe (born June 14, 1953) is a retired Venezuelan professional baseball player. He played as a right-handed middle relief pitcher in Major League Baseball for the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians. In his career, Aponte compiled a 9–6 record with 113 strikeouts, seven saves, and a 3.27 ERA in 220 innings over 110 appearances. Aponte committed no errors in his MLB career, handling 60 total chances (23 putouts, 37 assists) perfectly for a 1.000 fielding percentage. Richard Lee Anderson (December 25, 1953 – June 23, 1989) was a Major League Baseball pitcher. He attended high school in Gardena, California. Anderson was drafted by the New York Yankees in the first round of the 1972 Major League Baseball Draft. In 1979, Anderson was named the International League Pitcher of the Year with the Columbus Clippers. He made his major league debut with the Yankees on September 18, . This was the only game in which he pitched for the Yankees, as he was traded to the Seattle Mariners over the offseason.
