Dev (born Deepak Adhikari on 25 December 1982) is an Indian actor, producer, singer and screenwriter, known for his works in Bengali cinema, and more recently, a politician. He owns the production house Dev Entertainment Ventures Pvt. Ltd.. He is also one of the Highest Paid Bengali actors. He made come back on the silver screen with ''Premer Kahini'', opposite Koel Mullick, his first with whom he went on to star with in numerous films. A remake of the Kannada hit ''Mungaru Male'', the film was moderately successful. Dev got another breakthrough in ''Challenge'' which opened to critical and commercial success. He received the Anandalok Awards for Best Actor and Best Action Hero for his performance in the film. He continued to garner commercial success and wider attention through his successful films, including '' Le Chakka'', '' Dui Prithibi'', ''Paglu'', ''Challenge 2'', ''Khoka 420'', '' Rangbaaz'' and ''Chander Pahar''. ''Rangbaaz'' is an Indian Bengali language action film directed by Raja Chanda and produced under the banner of Surinder Films. The film stars Dev and Koel Mallick in lead roles. It is a remake of the 2007 Telugu film ''Chirutha'', starring Ram Charan Teja and Neha Sharma. Plot An auto driver, sees Lucky Bhai murder a journalist. The auto driver manages to capture Lucky Bhai and his henchman, and hold them until the Police arrive. Afterwards, the auto driver returns home to his wife and son, Raj. Unfortunately, Lucky Bhai and his henchmen break into their house that night. The auto driver is killed and his wife is severely injured. Raj survives uninjured. Raj's mother is in a critical condition but he and his uncle don't have enough money to pay for her operation. The local mafia leader's son has committed murder and offers Raj a deal. ''Challenge 2'' is a 2012 Indian Bengali action comedy film directed by Raja Chanda starring Dev and Pooja Bose in lead roles.
