Its natural habitat is closed-canopy forest (now largely gone). This arboreal frog hides by day in bromeliads where it also lays the eggs. It is threatened by habitat loss Habitat destruction (also termed habitat loss and habitat reduction) is the process by which a natural habitat becomes incapable of supporting its native species. Eleutherodactylus Fowleri
The khaki bromeliad frog or Fowler's robber frog (''Eleutherodactylus fowleri'') is a species of frog in the family Eleutherodactylidae endemic to Hispaniola. It occurs in the Massif de la Selle and is known from one site in the Dominican Republic and one in Haiti. It is named after Danny C. Fowler, collector of the holotype. Description Males measure and females, based on two specimens only, in snout–vent length. Dorsum is almost metallic tan and has some darker brown flecking. Sides are marbled black and yellow-tan. Concealed surfaces are dark brown to dark grey. Venter is grey with scattered yellow chromatophores. The vocal sac is grey to black. The male call is a two-note call, the second note being higher than the first one, and is preceded by about 4–5 warm-up notes. Calling sites are in trees, above the ground, probably also higher. Habitat and conservation The natural habitat of ''Eleutherodactylus fowleri'' is high-elevation mesic forest. It is an arboreal sp ...

''Eleutherodactylus flavescens'' is a species of frog in the family Eleutherodactylidae endemic to the eastern Dominican Republic. Its natural habitats are mesic forest, and occasionally, mangroves. It is a very common frog in suitable habitat, but has declined in parts of its range. It is threatened by habitat loss Habitat destruction (also termed habitat loss and habitat reduction) is the process by which a natural habitat becomes incapable of supporting its native species. Eleutherodactylus Eunaster
''Eleutherodactylus eunaster'' is a species of frog in the family Eleutherodactylidae Endemism, endemic to the Massif de la Hotte, Haiti. Its natural habitat is mesic hardwood closed-canopy forest at elevations of Above sea level, asl. It is an arboreal species that is moderately common in suitable habitat. It is threatened by habitat loss primarily caused by logging for charcoaling and slash-and-burn agriculture. While the species occurs in the Pic Macaya National Park, there is no active management for conservation, and habitat loss continues also in the park. References

Eleutherodactylus Counouspeus
''Eleutherodactylus counouspeus'', also known as Counou robber frog and yellow cave frog, is a species of frog in the family Eleutherodactylidae. It is endemic to the Massif de la Hotte, southwestern Haiti. The specific name ''counouspeus'' refers to its type locality, Counou Bois Cave, with ''speus'' being Greek for "cave". Hedges and colleagues suggested in 2008 that it should be placed in its own monotypic subgenus, ''Schwartzius'', reflecting its distinctiveness and honoring Albert Schwartz for "his contributions to the herpetology of the West Indies." Description ''Eleutherodactylus counouspeus'' is a relatively large ''Eleutherodactylus'' species: males can grow to and females to in snout–vent length. The snout is truncate. The tympanum is oval and distinct. The digital discs are well-developed. The fingers lack webbing while the toes have rudimentary webbing. The dorsum is greenish yellow to tan, with black or gray markings. These include an interocular bar that is ...

The specific name ''corona'' is derived from the Latin word for "crown" and refers to the distinctive tubercles on the top of the head of these frogs. Common name Caye Paul robber frog has been coined for it. Description Adult males measure and adult females in snout–vent length; adults weight about . The body is dorsoventrally flattened. The head is as wide as the body and has one or more distinct, subconical tubercles on its dorsal surface. The snout is subacuminate. Eleutherodactylus Coqui
''Eleutherodactylus'' is a genus of frogs in the family Eleutherodactylidae.Hedges, S. B., W. E. Duellman, and M. P. Heinicke . 2008. New World direct-developing frogs (Anura: Terrarana): molecular phylogeny, classification, biogeography, and conservation. Zootaxa 1737: 1-182. Many of the 200 species of the genus are commonly known as "rain frogs" or "robber frogs", due to their sharp, high-pitched, insect-like calls. The best-known species is the common coquí (''E. coqui''), which is both a national symbol of Puerto Rico and a notorious invasive species in Hawaii. Two ''Eleutherodactylus'' species, '' E. limbatus'' and '' E. iberia'', are among the smallest known frogs, measuring only 8.5 mm in length (only slightly larger than ''Paedophryne amauensis'', which measures around 7.7 mm). Etymology The name "Eleutherodactylus" is derived from the Greek words for ‘free-toed’, composed of the Ancient Greek ' (, ‘free, unbound’) and ' (, ‘finger, toe’). Most s ...

False Green Robber Frog
The false green robber frog (''Eleutherodactylus chlorophenax'') is a species of frogs in the family Eleutherodactylidae. It is endemic to the Massif de la Hotte, southwestern Haiti. Etymology The specific name ''chlorophenax'' is derived from Greek words for "green" and "imposter", the first referring to the prevalent green body color and the latter alluding to the resemblance of this species to ''Eleutherodactylus inoptatus''. Description The holotype, an adult male and the only type specimen, measured in snout–vent length (SVL). This is also the maximum (recorded) size for males, while the maximum female size is SVL. The head is slightly wider than it is long. The snout is truncate. The tympanum is visible. The dorsum is either green or tan with some green areas. Some individuals have weakly defined dark scapular spots and dorsolateral lines, but otherwise the dorsum is almost without any distinct pattern. The fingers are unwebbed while the toes are slightly webbed. Both ...
