Airport
An airport is an aerodrome with extended facilities, mostly for commercial air transport. Airports usually consists of a landing area, which comprises an aerially accessible open space including at least one operationally active surface such as a runway for a plane to take off and to land or a helipad, and often includes adjacent utility buildings such as control towers, hangars and terminals, to maintain and monitor aircraft. Everett, Washington
Everett is the county seat and largest city of Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is north of Seattle and is one of the main cities in the metropolitan area and the Puget Sound region. Everett is the seventh-largest city in the state by population, with 110,629 residents as of the 2020 census. The city is primarily situated on a peninsula at the mouth of the Snohomish River along Port Gardner Bay, an inlet of Possession Sound (itself part of Puget Sound), and extends to the south and west. The Port Gardner Peninsula was historically inhabited by the Snohomish people, who had a winter village named Hibulb near the mouth of the river. McAllister Field (known for the Yakima Air Terminal) is a public airport three miles south of Yakima, in Yakima County, Washington. Owned by the City of Yakima, it is used for general aviation and commercial air service. Yakima is served by one scheduled passenger air carrier (Alaska Airlines with service to Seattle/Tacoma International Airport) and two non-scheduled carriers (Sun Country Airlines and Xtra Airways). Pangborn Memorial Airport
Pangborn Memorial Airport is in Douglas County, Washington, four miles east of Wenatchee, a city in Chelan County. The airport is owned by the Ports of Chelan and Douglas Counties. The airport is used for general aviation and is served by one airline (Horizon Air), offering in-state service. SeaPort Airlines served the airport until winter 2012. As of September 28, 2006, Pangborn Memorial began supporting ILS (Instrument Landing System) approaches. Pangborn Memorial Airport is named for Clyde Pangborn, who in 1931 was the first pilot to fly non-stop across the Pacific Ocean.
