Myrtle Beach International Airport is a county-owned public-use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) southwest of the central business district of Myrtle Beach, in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. It was formerly known as Myrtle Beach Jetport (1974–1989) and is located on site of the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, which also includes The Market Common shopping complex. Bamberg is a city in and the county seat of Bamberg County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 3,607 at the 2010 census. History Bamberg is named after early resident William Seaborn Bamberg. Members of the Bamberg family continue to live in the county to this day. Andrews, South Carolina
Andrews is a town in both Georgetown and Williamsburg counties in the U.S. state of South Carolina. Its population was 2,861 at the 2010 census, down from 3,068 in 2000. General aviation airfield Robert F. Swinnie Airport is east of its central business district. Geography Andrews is located in western Georgetown County, with a small portion extending west into Williamsburg County. U.S. Route 521 bypasses the town to the south, then passes through the west side of the town; the highway leads northwest to Sumter and east to Georgetown, the county seat. South Carolina Highway 41 leads northeast to Hemingway and southwest to Jamestown. Charleston is to the southwest. Anderson Regional Airport
Anderson Regional Airport is a public airport southwest of Anderson, in Anderson County, South Carolina, United States. It is one of the busiest airports in upstate South Carolina. It receives over 14,000 visitors each year and generates over $13 million annually. Anderson has no airline service or concourses for gates, and no control tower, but in 2007 one runway was extended to handle larger aircraft. In May 2018, airport authorities announced plans for a 6.71 million dollar facelift. The plan includes further improvements of the main runway and building a new ADA-compliant general aviation terminal. Once the new terminal was completed, the old terminal built in 1970 was demolished. From 2009 to 2020, the airport hosted an annual airshow that typically runs Saturday-Sunday and was free to the public. Allendale, South Carolina
Allendale is a town in and the county seat of Allendale County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 3,482 at the 2010 census, a decline from 4,052 in 2000. History The Allendale County Courthouse, Antioch Christian Church, Erwin House, Gravel Hill Plantation, Red Bluff Flint Quarries, Roselawn, and Smyrna Baptist Church are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The artist Jasper Johns lived in Allendale during his childhood in the 1930s and 1940s. He was raised there by his grandfather, a farmer, and then with his aunt, the only teacher in a two-room school. Aiken, South Carolina
Aiken is the largest city in, and the county seat of, Aiken County, in western South Carolina. It is one of the two largest cities of the Central Savannah River Area. Founded in 1835, Aiken was named after William Aiken, the president of the South Carolina Railroad. It became part of Aiken County when the county was formed in 1871 from parts of Orangeburg, Lexington, Edgefield, and Barnwell counties. Aiken is home to the University of South Carolina Aiken.
