List Of Active Ukrainian Navy Ships
This is a list of vessels used by Ukrainian Navy. It includes main naval ships and cutters which are in service or were recently unlisted in the Ukrainian Navy as well as the auxiliary fleet, and lists ships' project numbers where a written class is unavailable or not notable – these are used by the designers to note each ship's type. As of December 2007, the Navy had 27 combat ships and cutters. Some 30 years after the fall of the Soviet Union, the main warships of the Ukrainian Navy are former Black Sea Fleet vessels that were designed and built in the Soviet Union. Having several shipyards on its territory, the shipbuilding industry of Ukraine was mostly stalled after the fall of the Soviet Union. 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine
On 24 February 2022, in a major escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War, which began in 2014. The invasion has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths on both sides. Being smaller than other warships such as destroyers and frigates, missile boats are popular with nations interested in forming a navy at lower cost. Kerch Strait Incident
The Kerch Strait incident was an international incident that occurred on 25 November 2018 in the Kerch Strait, during which the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) coast guard fired upon and captured three Ukrainian Navy vessels after they attempted to transit from the Black Sea into the Sea of Azov through the strait on their way to the port of Mariupol. It was the first time that Russian forces had openly engaged Ukrainian forces during the Russo-Ukrainian War. In 2014, Russia had annexed the nearby Crimean Peninsula, which is predominantly internationally recognised as Ukrainian territory. It later constructed the Crimean Bridge across the strait. Kuznia na Rybalskomu ( uk, "Кузня на Рибальському") is a ship building and arms industry, armament company in Kyiv, Ukraine. Situated on the Dnieper River and presently concentrating on river ships, the company is also able to produce and repair small sea vessels (both civil and navy, naval), as well as various military equipment. Kuznia na Rybalskomu was indirectly controlled by Ukrainian businessman and politician Petro Poroshenko and politician Ihor Kononenko as of 2017. In 2018, the company was bought by Serhiy Tihipko for $300 million. The main production facilities of the company have been situated on the Rybalskyi Peninsula, Rybalskyi Island in Kyiv since 1928. Gyurza-M-class Artillery Boat
The Project 58155 Gyurza-M class is a series of small armored gunboats in service with the Ukrainian Navy. The first two vessels were laid down at the Kuznia na Rybalskomu (previously Leninska Kuznia) shipbuilding plant in October 2012. Originally it was planned to build nine such vessels by 2017. In December 2013 the Ministry of Defence withdrew its contract. The class is named after the Levant viper, , in Ukrainian. In mid-2014 construction of the Gyurza-M class was revived and the first two vessels were launched in late 2015. In December 2016 they officially joined the Ukrainian Navy. The new military contract for twenty vessels was to be completed by 2020. ''Washington'' was constructed at Bollinger Machine Shop and Shipyard in Lockport, Louisiana, and commissioned on 15 June 1990. USCGC Ocracoke
USCGC Ocracoke (WPB-1307) is an Island Class Cutter of the United States Coast Guard. She is homeported in Maine, where she patrols international and territorial waters as a humanitarian, law enforcement, and Homeland Security asset. Her primary missions are Search and Rescue, Counter-Smuggling Activities, and Homeland Security. Upon commissioning in 1986 and until 1991, she was assigned to Coast Guard Patrol Boat Squadron Two (CG PATBOATRON TWO) in Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. During this period she conducted law enforcement, search and rescue, and expeditionary naval operations. Bollinger Shipyards
Bollinger Shipyards is an American constructor of ships, workboats and patrol vessels. Its thirteen shipyards and forty drydocks are located in Louisiana and Texas. Its drydocks range in capacity from vessels of 100 tons displacement to 22,000 tons displacement. The firm was founded in 1946.
