Below is a list of current World Cup records in swimming claimed at the annual series of swimming meets run by the International Swimming Federation (FINA). Until August 2015 the events are always held in a short course (25 m) pool. The complete 2015 edition of the FINA World Cup switched to be held in a long course (50 m) pool. All records were set in finals unless noted otherwise. FINA (french: Fédération internationale de natation, en, International Swimming Federation, link=yes) (to be renamed as World Aquatics by ) is the international federation recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for administering international competitions in water sports. 2017 FINA Swimming World Cup
The 2017 FINA Swimming World Cup was a series of eight two-day meets in eight different cities between August and November 2017. This edition was held in the usual short-course (25 meter pool) format. Like the previous short course World Cup in 2016, 36 events were scheduled. Meets The 2017 World Cup consisted of the following eight meets, which were divided into three clusters. Eindhoven returned after having been omitted for the last two editions, while Paris and Dubai were dropped in comparison to the previous year. The other seven cities were the same as the previous year. Missy Franklin
Melissa Franklin Johnson (born May 10, 1995) is an American former competition swimmer and five-time Olympic gold medalist. She formerly held the world record in the 200-meter backstroke (long course). As a member of the U.S. national swim team, she also held the world records in the 4×100-meter medley relay (short course and long course). Alicia Jayne Coutts, (born 14 September 1987) is an Australian competitive medley, butterfly and freestyle swimmer. She represented Australia at the 2008 Summer Olympics, 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2010 Commonwealth Games (New Delhi). She was a Swimming Australia National Training Centre scholarship holder and was coached by John Fowlie. Her haul of five medals at the 2012 Summer Olympics matches fellow Australians Ian Thorpe and Shane Gould in one single Olympics, and trails only Emma McKeon’s seven. Christian Sprenger
Christian David Sprenger (born 19 December 1985) is an Australian former breaststroke swimmer. He trains at the Commercial Swimming Club under Simon Cusack. Swimming career At the 2008 Australian Swimming Championships he qualified in the 100- and 200-metre breaststroke, placing second in both events to qualify for the Olympics in Beijing. He failed to make the finals in either event but picked up a silver after swimming in the heats of the medley relay. Later on in the year he won nine individual FINA World Cup races during the 2008 series. He also won seven silvers and three bronze. Robert Hurley (swimmer)
Robert "Bobby" Hurley (born 26 September 1988) is an Australian swimmer and former World Record holder in the short-course (25 metre pool) 50 metres Backstroke and 2012 World Champion in the same event. In 2009 he won a bronze medal as a team member on the 4 × 200 m Freestyle relay at the FINA World Championships in Rome. He has five FINA World Championship medals to his name, two gold, one silver and two bronze. Jesse Puts (; born 1 August 1994) is a Dutch competitive swimmer who specializes in freestyle. He is the 2016 world champion in the 50 meter freestyle (short course). He holds the Dutch records in this event in both long course and short course, as well as in the 100 meter freestyle (short course). Career At his international debut during the 2014 European Championships in Berlin, Puts finished eighth on the 50 meter backstroke.
