Each entry indicates the name of the building along with an image, if available, its location and the jurisdiction it covers,For the usage of court abbreviations, see List of United States district and territorial courts. the dates during which it was used for each such jurisdiction, and, if applicable the person for whom it was named, and the date of renaming. Dates of use will not necessarily correspond with the dates of construction or demolition of a building, as pre-existing structures may be adapted or court use, and former court buildings may later be put to other uses. Also, the official name of the building may be changed at some point after its use as a federal court building has been initiated. United States Post Office (Hannibal, Missouri)
The United States Post Office at Hannibal, Missouri, is a federal building previously used as a post office and as a courthouse. It is also known as the Federal Building or the Naval Reserve Center, and is located at 600 Broadway. The building's architect was Mifflin E. Bell, and it was completed in 1888. The building is an excellent example of a late Second Empire architectural style. The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri met in this building until 1960, and the U.S. Circuit Court for that district met here until that court was abolished in 1912. It is now owned by the city. Durward Gorham Hall
Durward Gorham Hall (September 14, 1910 – March 15, 2001) was a six-term US representative from Missouri's 7th congressional district. Biography He was born in Cassville, Missouri on September 14, 1910 and graduated from Greenwood Laboratory School at Southwest Missouri State Teacher's College in Springfield, Missouri in 1926. He received his A.B. at Drury College (now Drury University) in Springfield, Missouri in 1930. Hall went on to medical school at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois where he received his M.D. in 1934. Dr. Hall served as a physician in the United States Army, Office of the Surgeon General and joined the United States Army Reserve in 1955. Dr. Hall was elected as a Republican to the 87th United States Congress in 1960. He was re-elected for five more terms serving until January 3, 1973. Joplin is a city in Jasper County, Missouri, Jasper and Newton County, Missouri, Newton counties in the southwestern corner of the U.S. state of Missouri. The bulk of the city is in Jasper County, while the southern portion is in Newton County. Kit Bond
Christopher Samuel "Kit" Bond (born March 6, 1939) is an American attorney, politician and former United States Senator from Missouri and a member of the Republican Party. First elected to the U.S. Senate in 1986, he defeated Democrat Harriett Woods by a margin of 53%–47%. He was re-elected in 1992, 1998, and 2004. On January 8, 2009, he announced that he would not seek re-election to a fifth term in 2010, and was succeeded by fellow Republican Roy Blunt on January 3, 2011. Following his retirement from the Senate, Bond became a partner at Thompson Coburn. Before beginning his 24-year long career in the U.S. Senate, Bond served two non-consecutive terms as Governor of Missouri, from 1973 to 1977 and from 1981 to 1985. Jefferson City, informally Jeff City, is the capital of Missouri, United States. It had a population of 43,228 at the 2020 census, ranking as the 15th most populous city in the state.
