The TT Pro League (formerly known as the Professional Football League) is the Trinidad and Tobago professional league for association football clubs. The league serves as the top division in the Trinidad and Tobago football league system and is the country's primary football competition. Contested by ten clubs, the league is one of the world's few football leagues that does not operate on an automatic system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from September to May, with teams playing 27 games each, totaling 135 games in the season. Most games are played in the evenings of Fridays (''Super Fridays'') and Saturdays (''Fiesta Saturdays''), with a few games played during weekday evenings. The Pro League headquarters is located in northwest of Trinidad and Tobago in St. Augustine. The league is currently sponsored by Digicel and thus officially known as the Digicel Pro League. Trinidad And Tobago National Football Team
The Trinidad and Tobago national football team, nicknamed the " Soca Warriors", represents the twin-island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in international football. It is controlled by the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association, which is a member of CONCACAF (the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football), the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), and the global jurisdiction of FIFA. W Connection
W Connection Football Club is a football club from Trinidad and Tobago, which currently plays in the TT Pro League. The club plays its home games at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella. The club's offices are based at the Point Lisas Industrial Estate in Trinidad and Tobago and sponsors the Wanderers Cricket Club, formerly sponsored by Caroni Limited. History The team was founded as W Connection Sports Club in 1986, as a "fete match" team, by brothers David John Williams and Patrick John Williams in San Fernando. Upon the creation of the TT Pro League, W Connection FC was officially founded in 1999, and promptly joined the nascent league. In 1999, their first season, the club finished third in the league, while winning the FA Trophy. Randolph Jerome
Randolph Jerome (born February 2, 1978) is a Guyanese soccer player who currently plays for North East Stars in the TT Pro League. Career Professional Jerome began his career in Trinidad with Doc’s Khelwalaas, before moving to league rival Caledonia AIA. He transferred to play for North East Stars in 2002 and in 2003 28 goals to lead the league and claim the Golden Boot award. In the 2004 season, Jerome moved to South Starworld Strikers where he scored 16 goals, second in the league behind Jerren Nixon. After that, Jerome played for 7 months in Lebanon for Al-Mabarra, scoring 10 times in League games and 4 times in the Cup and honouring as Lebanese Cup winner, before returning to Trinidad to play for W Connection and a second stint with South Starworld Strikers. Jerren Nixon
Jerren Kendall Nixon (born 25 June 1973) is a Trinidadian former professional footballer who played as a forward. After beginning his career with Trinidadian clubs Airport Authority and ECM Motown, Nixon signed for Dundee United in 1993, where he won the Scottish Cup in his first season. In 1995, he joined FC Zürich and went on to spend eight years playing in Switzerland, where he also had spells with Yverdon-Sport and FC St. Gallen. He ended his career back in Trinidad with North East Stars, where he was also interim head coach for a time. Nixon made 38 international appearances for Trinidad and Tobago between 1993 and 2004, twice playing at the CONCACAF Gold Cup. Arnold Dwarika
Arnold Dwarika (born 23 August 1973 in Upper Santa Cruz, Trinidad) is a retired Trinidadian football player, who played as a midfielder for the Trinidad and Tobago national team. He went to school at Malick Senior Comprehensive in Trinidad. Career Most of his career has been spent in his homeland in the TT Pro League but Dwarika has also had stints in Europe with Scottish side East Fife and Asia with Chinese clubs Qingdao Hailifeng and Guangzhou Pharmaceutical. Dwarika scored two goals in Trinidad and Tobago's 3–2 loss to the United States during the 1996 Gold Cup. He was a regular member of the Trinidad and Tobago senior squad from 1993, and also played in the under-23 Olympic squad of 1996. TT Pro League Golden Boot
The TT Pro League Golden Boot is an annual Trinidad and Tobago association football, football award given at the beginning of each TT Pro League calendar year to the top goalscorer for the previous season. The Golden Boot has been awarded since the establishment of the Pro League in 1999. The top-scoring Pro League Golden Boot winner is Arnold Dwarika with 45 goals in 28 games during the league's inaugural season.
