Mercedes Vecino Francés (4 February 1916 – 28 August 2004) was a Spanish film actress. She was famous as the woman who gave "the first kiss" in Spanish cinema. Biography Vecino was born in Melilla, Spain, located next to Morocco in North Africa, and died in Alicante, Spain. She was the daughter of a military man, married first to actor José Jaspe, and then to José Vaquero, (also known as Pepe), artistic representative of well-known folklorics such as Lola Flores or Carmen Sevilla. She had a daughter Mar Vaquero. She developed her professional career in Barcelona and then in Alicante, where she found the weather suited her health better. Known as a remarkably beautiful woman, in the early 1930s, Vecino was named Miss Barcelona, and shortly thereafter she began performing as a showgirl in various productions. Alfredo Fernández Martínez (17 May 1911 in Barcelona – 19 May 1985 in Palma de Mallorca) better known as Alfredo Mayo was a Spanish actor. Biography After studying medicine, in 1929 Mayo made his debut in the theatre with the company of Ernesto Vilches. He fought for Francisco Franco in the Spanish Civil War in aviation. Rafael Gil (22 May 1913 – 10 July 1986) was a Spanish film director and screenwriter. His film ''La guerra de Dios'' (1953) won the Bronze Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 1953 and also won best film and best director at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. His film ''La noche del sábado'' (1950) was nominated for the Gold Lion at the 1950 Venice Film Festival and his film ''El beso de Judas'' (1954) was also nominated for the Gold Lion at the 1954 festival in Venice. His film '' Let's Make the Impossible!'' (1958) was nominated for the Golden Berlin Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. He has won nine prizes of the National Syndicate of Spectacle of Spain. Gil was a prominent director of the Franco era. Rafael Rivelles
Rafael Félix Rivelles Guillén (23 December 1898 — 3 December 1971) was a Spanish actor born in El Cabañal (El Cabanyal), a small town in the province of Valencia, Spain. Son of play actor José Rivelles and play actress Amparo Guillén, he was the father of famous Spanish star Amparo Rivelles. In the 1930s, with the advent of talking films, he went to Hollywood to make Spanish-language versions of American films, but eventually came back to Spain. Rivelles had two especially notable roles - the title role in ''Don Quijote de la Mancha'', and the Prior in ''Marcelino pan y vino'' (1955). He died in Madrid on 3 December 1971 and was interred at the El Cabanyal Cemetery in Valencia along with his father.
