The term "Cinema of Korea" (or "Korean cinema") encompasses the motion picture industries of North and South Korea. As with all aspects of Korean life during the past century, the film industry has often been at the mercy of political events, from the late Joseon dynasty to the Korean War to domestic governmental interference. While both countries have relatively robust film industries today, only South Korean films have achieved wide international acclaim. North Korean films tend to portray their communist or revolutionary themes. South Korean films enjoyed a "Golden age" during the late 1950s, and 1960s, but by the 1970s had become generally considered to be of low quality. ''My Wife Got Married'' () is a 2008 South Korean romantic drama film. Directed by Jeong Yoon-soo and starring Kim Joo-hyuk and Son Ye-jin in the lead roles, the film is adapted from a bestselling novel of the same name by Park Hyun-wook. Min Kyu-dong (born September 12, 1970) is a South Korean film director, screenwriter and film producer, producer. He made his feature directorial debut in horror film ''Memento Mori (film), Memento Mori'' (1999), followed by romantic comedy, romantic comedies ''All for Love (2005 film), All for Love'' (2005) and ''All About My Wife'' (2012), queer films ''Antique (film), Antique'' (2008) and ''In My End Is My Beginning'' (2013), melodrama ''The Last Blossom'' (2011), and period drama ''The Treacherous'' (2015). Jeanne Alida "Jan" Ruff-O'Herne (18 January 1923 – 19 August 2019) was a Dutch Australian of Irish ancestry and human rights activist known for campaigning internationally against war rape. During World War II, Ruff-O'Herne was forced into sexual slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army.
