Park Chul-soo
Park Chul-soo (November 20, 1948 – February 19, 2013) was a South Korean film director, producer, screenwriter and occasional actor. He was one of the most active filmmakers in Korean cinema in the 1980s and '90s. Career Park Chul-soo was born in Daegu, South Korea. After graduating from Daegu Commercial High School, Park studied Economics on scholarship at Sungkyunkwan University. After graduation, he briefly worked as a teacher in his hometown, Daegu. He began his film career as a crew member for Shin Film before making his directorial debut in 1978 with ''Captain of the Alley'', which opened to a lukewarm reception. But success came his way through his second film released the following year, '' The Rain that Falls Every Night'', a story about a woman who falls in love with a boxer who raped her. ''You My Rose Mellow'' () is a 1988 South Korean film directed by Park Chul-soo and starring Lee Deok-hwa and Lee Bo-hee. Kim Cheong-gi (born April 4, 1941) is a South Korean director of animated, fantasy, and science fiction films. His most well known work, '' Robot Taekwon V'' (1976), is considered one of the milestones of Korean animation. With actor Shim Hyung-rae, he created the ''Ureme'' series, one of the more popular Korean children's series of the late 1980s. ''Ureme'' (also spelled ''ulemae'', ''uroemae'' or ''wuroemae'') (in Korean: 우뢰매) is series of Korean children's science-fiction films created by Kim Cheong-gi and originally starring Shim Hyung-rae as the titular hero. The series began in 1986 and released 6 films by 1989. The sixth Ureme film starred Han Jeong-ho as the lead role, but Shim Hyung-Rae would return to star in Ureme 7, which was directed by Lim Jong-ho but written and produced by Kim Cheong-gi. Ureme 8 was released in 1993, reuniting Kim Cheong-gi as director and Shim Hyung-Rae as the lead role. The series ended in that year with Ureme 9. Sa Bangji (film)
''Sa Bang-ji'' () is a 1988 South Korean film directed by Song Kyung-shik. The film was inspired by the real life Sa Bangji, an intersex person of the Joseon Dynasty. Plot Sa Bangji is a hermaphrodite, born to a hardened criminal and mentally disturbed woman. Taken in at a monastery, Sa Bang-ji meets and falls in love with a grieving young widow, Lee So-sa, but she betrays him when their relationship is discovered by the elders in her family. Sa Bang-ji manages to escape and meets a shaman priestess named Myo-hwa, with whom he plots to take revenge. After Myo-hwa is killed, Sa Bang-ji and So-sa are reunited, but then Sa Bang-Ji is captured and killed and So-sa commits suicide.
