The list details the club's achievements in all major competitions, and the top scorers for each league season. Shamrock Rovers are recognised as being founded in 1901 (Shamrock Rovers F.C.#Foundation and early history, some sources suggest 1899), and were elected to the League of Ireland in 1922. David Byrne (footballer Born 1905)
David Byrne (28 April 1905 – 1 May 1990) was an Irish former footballer who played as a forward. Nicknamed Babby as he was the youngest of 11 and born in Dublin, he joined Shamrock Rovers in 1926 and had four spells at Glenmalure Park. He also played for Bradford City, Shelbourne, Sheffield United, Manchester United, Coleraine, Glentoran and Larne. Byrne won three senior caps for the Irish Free State making a scoring debut as a Shels player on 20 April 1929 in a 4–0 friendly win against Belgium at Dalymount Park. As a Rovers player he played against Spain at the same venue on 13 December 1931. His last cap was as a Coleraine player in a World Cup qualifier against Belgium, also at Dalymount, on 25 February 1934. He was top scorer in the League with 17 goals when Rovers went unbeaten capturing their third League Championship in 1926–27. This was his and the club's first season at Glenmalure Park. Billy Farrell (footballer)
Billy "Juicy" Farrell was an Irish association footballer who played for Shamrock Rovers and the League of Ireland XI during the 1920s. Farrell was a prominent member of the Rovers team that won the treble in 1924–25 and was top goalscorer in the League of Ireland on two successive seasons. He remains one of Rovers all-time leading goalscorers. Farrell was a highly regarded player, keeping a young Jimmy Dunne out of the Rovers first team. During the summer of 1926 Farrell suffered a broken thigh following a motor cycle accident and this subsequently ended his career. Playing career Shamrock Rovers Together with Bob Fullam, John Fagan and John Joe Flood, Farrell was part of a legendary Shamrock Rovers forward-line known as the "Four F's". Farrell and Fullam formed a particularly strong partnership. In the 1924–25 League of Ireland season they scored 25 and 20 goals respectively.
