Seville Metro
The Seville Metro ( es, Metro de Sevilla) is an light metro network serving the city of Seville, Spain and its metropolitan area. The system is totally independent of any other rail or street traffic. All 22 stations were built with platform screen doors. It was the sixth Metro system to be built in Spain, after those in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao and Palma de Mallorca. Currently, it is the fifth biggest Metro company in Spain by number of passengers carried – it carried 16 million passengers in 2017. Pablo de Olavide is a station of the Seville Metro on line 1 named after the nearby Universidad Pablo de Olavide. This station will also be a tram stop for the Alcalá de Guadaíra tram line that is under construction and projected to be completed in 2019. 1º de Mayo (English: 1 May) is a station of the Seville Metro on line 1. It is located at the intersection of ''Federico Mayo Gayarre'' and ''Ronda del Tamarguillo'' avenues in the district of Cerro-Amate. ''1º de Mayo'' is an underground station situated between ''Gran Plaza'' and ''Amate'' on the same line. It was opened on 2 April 2009. It is expected that by 2017 the station will have a connection with line 4 of the subway (that it is still in planning phase).
