John Blain (cricketer)
John Angus Rae Blain (born 4 January 1979) is a Scottish first-class cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman, and a right-arm fast-medium pace bowler. In May 2019, he was inducted into Cricket Scotland's Hall of Fame. However, in July 2022, Blain was "temporarily suspended" from the hall of fame. Playing career Attaining his first cap in 1996, Blain became Scotland's youngest-capped cricketer since 1890. He played during the 1996 European Championship taking seven wickets at 9.85. Blain was initially signed as a footballer to Falkirk but decided to switch to cricket, signing for Northamptonshire, having not made an impact as a footballer. Blain left Northamptonshire County Cricket Club at the end of the 2003 season to join Yorkshire County Cricket Club, where he made sporadic appearances for the first team until he was initially released in 2006. Kari Carswell also known as Kari Anderson (born 21 October 1982) is a former Scottish cricketer and coach who was the former captain of the Scotland women's national cricket team. She had established a playing and coaching career with Scotland women's cricket team spanning for over two decades. She has received 152 caps in her professional career representing Scotland for 17 years. She also holds the unique distinction of being part of Scotland women's first international cricket match, as well as serving as coach as well as captain of the Scotland women's cricket team simultaneously at the same time. In addition, she also served as Cricket Scotland's women's development manager. She has also coached New Zealand women at international level. Ross Alexander McLean (born 16 March 1981) is an English cricketer. McLean is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium-fast. He was born at Northampton, Northamptonshire, and was educated at Duston Upper School before later attending the University of Leeds. Career McLean made his debut for the Northamptonshire Cricket Board (NCB) against the Essex Cricket Board in the 1999 MCCA Knockout Trophy. He made three further appearances in that competition in 2000, as well as making his List A debut for the NCB against Northumberland in the 2000 NatWest Trophy at the County Ground, Northampton. Patrick Thomas Sadler (born 28 September 1991). is an English cricketer who has played for Cambridge University Cricket Club, captaining the side for the 2013 season, Cambridge MCCU and Scotland Under-19, which he captained in the 2012 Under-19 Cricket World Cup: he also played for the Scotland Development XI. He was born in Leytonstone and attended the Royal High School, Edinburgh and Churchill College, Cambridge. Richie Berrington
Richard Douglas Berrington (born 3 April 1987) is a Scottish cricketer. He played for Scotland in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka, and has since played first-class, One Day International, and List A cricket for Scotland. In June 2022, Berrington was named as the captain of the national team, after Kyle Coetzer stepped down from leading the side. Early life and youth career Berrington was born in Pretoria, South Africa, but he emigrated to Scotland as a child. Berrington played cricket for Scotland at a national level as a teenager, representing the country at every level from under-13s up to under-19s. The ICC World Cup Qualifier (previously called the ICC Trophy and officially known as the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier) is a One-Day International (ODI) cricket tournament that serves as the culmination of the Cricket World Cup qualification process for the Cricket World Cup. It is usually played in the year before the World Cup. Although the tournament historically has not maintained a regular or identifiable format, a final qualification event awarding berths in the event proper has been a regular feature of the ICC Cricket World Cup since 1979.
