Russian (russian: русский язык, russkij jazyk, link=no, ) is an East Slavic languages, East Slavic language mainly spoken in Russia. It is the First language, native language of the Russians, and belongs to the Indo-European languages, Indo-European language family. NTV Canada (НТВ in Cyrillic) was a Canadian exempt Category B Russian language specialty channel. The channel was owned by HTB Canada Inc. It broadcast programming from NTV Russia and local Canadian content. NTV Canada produced weekly news program ''Today and Yesterday'' with Andrei Mazuruc and Stanislav Milashchenko, talk show ''Honest Talk'' with Luba Cherny, and arts and culture program ''Afisha'' (What's on) with Svetlana Dvoretskaya. 5TV is a television channel based in St. Petersburg, Russia. Alexey Brodskiy serves as the director general, with Ljubov Sovershaeva serving as the general producer. History Channel 5 succeeded the nationwide Leningrad TV channel dating back to 1938, which was immensely popular throughout the Soviet Union during the last years of Perestroika with such programs as ''600 Seconds'' of its editor-in-chief, Alexander Nevzorov. RT France
RT France, also known as RT en français, is the French version of the Russian state-controlled news channel RT. The channel is based in the Paris suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt and funded by the Russian government. Similar to other RT channels, the accuracy and objectivity of RT France's information was regularly questioned. RT revealed in late 2015 it was planning to develop a network for the French-speaking audience in countries such as France, Belgium and Switzerland. The channel was launched on December 18, 2017, broadcasting in France, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland and the Mediterranean. RT UK, also known as Russia Today, was a free-to-air television news channel based in the United Kingdom. It was part of the RT network, a Russian state-controlled international television network funded by the federal tax budget of the Russian government. The channel's head was Nikolay Bogachikhin. Launched in 2014, it ran live broadcasts for seven years and ceased broadcasting from London in July 2021. RT UK served as the home and production base of RT's UK-based programmes.
