The series focuses on six elementary school students and their interaction with other classmates and teachers. ''Recess'' first aired on ABC from 1997 through to 2001, and reruns aired on Disney Channel in the United States. The show premiered on September 13, 1997, on ABC as part of Disney's One Saturday Morning, with the first season spanning 26 episodes. The second season premiered on September 12, 1998.
