List Of Queensland Cup Honours
The following Queensland Cup honours, excluding the Duncan Hall Medal, are awarded at the end of each regular season at the Queensland Rugby League's annual presentation evening. The Duncan Hall Medal is awarded after the Grand Final. Petero Civoniceva Medal The Petero Civoniceva Medal is awarded to the Queensland Cup player voted as the best and fairest over the entire season. After each game, the referees award three votes to the best player, two votes to the second-best player, and one vote to the third-best player. Formerly known as The Courier Mail Medal, in 2018, the medal was renamed after former Australian Kangaroos, Australian and Queensland Maroons, Queensland representative Petero Civoniceva. Queensland Cup
The Queensland Cup, currently known as the Hostplus Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the highest-level regional rugby league football competition in Queensland, Australia. It is run by the Queensland Rugby League (QRL) and is contested by fourteen teams, twelve of which are based in Queensland, with one based in New South Wales and one in Central Province, Papua New Guinea. The competition is the present-day embodiment of Queensland's top-level club competition. It replaced the Winfield State League in 1996 and accompanied the Brisbane Rugby League, before becoming the premier competition in 1998, following the disbanding of the Brisbane Rugby League. Jason Bulgarelli
Jason Bulgarelli (born 20 May 1976) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 2000s. He previously played for the Canberra Raiders, winning the club's ''Rookie of the Year'' award in 2003. He primarily played in the centres. Playing career Bulgarelli was born in Brandon, Queensland and played his junior rugby league for the Burdekin Roosters. An Illawarra Steelers lower grader, Bulgarelli was playing with Easts Tigers in the Queensland Cup, before joining the Canberra Raiders. Bulgarelli made his NRL debut in round 10 of the 2003 season at the age of 27, and was the club's rookie of the year. In August, 2004, he was named alongside club greats Laurie Daley and Sam Backo when the Raiders selected a side representing the all-time best Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to have played for the club. Greg Inglis
Gregory Paul Inglis (born 15 January 1987), also known by the nickname of "G.I.", is a retired Australian professional rugby league footballer. His regular playing positions were Centre, Fullback, Five-eighth and Wing. From 2011 to 2019 he played in the NRL for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, with whom he won a premiership in 2014. The 2005 Queensland Cup season was the 10th season of Queensland's top-level statewide rugby league competition run by the Queensland Rugby League. The competition, known as the Queensland Wizard Cup due to sponsorship from Wizard Home Loans featured 11 teams playing a 26-week long season (including finals) from March to September. The North Queensland Cowboys finished as minor premiers and defeated the Burleigh Bears 36–6 in the Grand Final at Suncorp Stadium to claim their first premiership. Burleigh Bears
The Burleigh Bears are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in Gold Coast, Australia. They compete in Queensland's top rugby league competition, the Queensland Cup. Since their admission to the competition in 1997, the club has appeared in six Grand Finals, winning four (1999, 2004, 2016 and 2019) and won the minor premiership twice (2003 and 2004). Brent McConnell (born 12 November 1980) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer. Playing career He made his first grade debut for the North Queensland Cowboys against the South Sydney Rabbitohs in round 17 of the 2006 NRL season. In that fixture McConnell scored the match-winning try against Souths to win the game for North Queensland 16–14 with only five minutes left. He only played two more games in 2006 due to injury. Wynnum Seagulls
The Wynnum-Manly Seagulls are an Australian rugby league football club based at Kougari Oval, in Brisbane's bayside suburb of Manly West, which neighbours the suburb of Wynnum. They competed in the Brisbane Rugby League from 1951 to 1997. Since 1996 they have competed in the Queensland Cup. Their jersey is red, green and white. From 1995 to 2005 they were known as the Wynnum Seagulls. Denny Lambert (born 23 September 1980) is an Australian former rugby league professional footballer who played for the North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League. He primarily played . Background A Collinsville Miners junior, Lambert represented the Queensland under-17 side while playing for Ipswich Brothers before being signed by the North Queensland Cowboys. Easts Tigers
The Brisbane Tigers are a rugby league club based at Langlands Park, in the suburb of Coorparoo in Brisbane, Australia. Scott Thorburn (born 24 January 1977) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s for the South Queensland Crushers and Gold Coast Chargers.
