List Of Presidents Of The Maldives
The president of the Maldives ( dv, ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ) is the head of state and head of government of the Republic of Maldives and the commander-in-chief of the Maldives National Defence Force. The current president is Ibrahim Mohamed Solih elected in 2018 by a majority of 58.4%, taking the government from Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih ( dv, އިބްރާހީމް މުޙައްމަދު ޞާލިޙް; ar, إبراهيم محمد صالح; born 1 March 1962), better known as Ibu (އިބޫ), is a Maldivian politician and the president of the Maldives since 17 November 2018. Solih was first elected to the People's Majlis in 1994, aged 30, as the MP from his home atoll of Faadhippolhu. Solih played a leading role in the formation of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and the Maldives Political Reform Movement from 2003 until 2008, which led to the country adopting a new modern constitution and multiparty democracy for the first time in its history. The Maldivian Democratic Party ( dv, ދިވެހި ރައްޔިތުންގެ ޑިމޮކްރެޓިކް ޕާޓީ, ''Dhivehi Rayyithunge Dimocretic Pati''; MDP) is the first political party formed in the Republic of Maldives with a total membership of 53,139 individuals as of 11 July 2021. It is a party with its stated goal being the promotion of human rights and democracy in the Maldives. Abdul Sattar Moosa Didi
Abdul Sattar Moosa Didi (alternative name: ''Amir Abdul Sattar Faamudheyri Kilegefaanu'') was Maldivian diplomat and politician. He was born 1936 or 1937. He died in November 2015 in Bangkok. Life Didi started his public service career as secretary at the Representative Office of the Maldives in Colombo in 1957. Then from 1960 to 1967 he was the representative in Ceylon. He was then Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York City from 1967 to 1970, and ambassador to the USA between 1968 and 1970. In the government of President Ibrahim Nasir, he was Finance Minister from October 1970 to March 1975. 1973 Maldivian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in the Maldives in September 1973. The election took the form of a referendum on the candidacy of incumbent President Ibrahim Nasir, who was re-elected. Background Nasir had originally been elected for a four-year term in 1968. However, in 1972 a constitutional amendment was passed by the Majlis to extend the presidential term to five years.History

1952 Maldivian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held for the first time in the Maldives in 1952. They followed the approval of a new constitution in a referendum in March 1952, which had changed the country's system of governance from being a monarchy to a republic. Mohamed Amin
Mohamed Amin (29 August 1943 – 23 November 1996) was a Kenyan photojournalist. Amin's filming of Michael Buerk's report of the 1984 Ethiopian famine brought international attention to the crisis and eventually helped start the charity wave that resulted in Live Aid concerts.
