Persian Language
Persian (), also known by its endonym Farsi (, ', ), is a Western Iranian language belonging to the Iranian branch of the Indo-Iranian subdivision of the Indo-European languages. Persian is a pluricentric language predominantly spoken and used officially within Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan in three mutually intelligible standard varieties, namely Iranian Persian (officially known as ''Persian''), Dari Persian (officially known as ''Dari'' since 1964) and Tajiki Persian (officially known as ''Tajik'' since 1999).Siddikzoda, S. IRIB TV5
IRIB TV5 (شبکه پنج, ''Shibkâh-e Penj'' in Persian), is an Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting television channel. The channel is one of the newer television channels in Iran and was established on November 26, 1995. The channel was also referred to ''Tehran Channel'' by the citizens of Tehran, as it was only available in Tehran. On 20 December 2014, the channel changed from a provincial channel to national channel, added programs focusing on economy. Tehran's provincial channel started broadcasting on 25 January 2016, in its own right, but merged again with Channel 5 on 10 August 2016 and Channel 5 became provincial again. Channel 4 (Iran)
IRIB TV4 ( fa, شبكه چهار, /ʃæbæke-je tʃɑhɑr/) is one of the 32 national television channels in Iran. Its slogan is "the channel of wisdom." The channel is operated by IRIB and started broadcasting in April 1994, shortly after IRIB TV3 went on air in December 1993. The channel is known to be a more artistic and academic channel than its counterparts. It broadcasts documentaries, academic conferences, interviews with scholars, artistic movies, economic magazines, plays, and philosophical discussions. Gholamreza Gholami is the current manager of the channel. IRIB TV3 ( fa, شبکه ۳ or ; ''Shabake Se'') is one of the 32 national television channels in Iran. It is the third television channel created by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, and started broadcasting on December 4, 1993. The channel is often referred to as the ''youth channel'', due to its large amounts of programming dedicated to sports. Channel 2 (Iran)
IRIB TV2 ( fa, شبكه دو, ''Shabakeh-ye Do'', lit. Channel 2) is one of the 40 national television channels in Iran. It broadcasts to the Persian-speaking areas of the Middle East and is headquartered in Tehran. The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting decided to introduce the channel as a result of Iran's growing population, intending to make it a complement to the already-established IRIB TV1. The channel has a variety of programming similar to IRIB TV1, including miniseries, comedies, children's shows, talk shows, news broadcasts, and original television films.
