Pakistani People
Pakistanis ( ur, , translit=Pākistānī Qaum, ) are the citizens and nationals of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. According to the 2017 Pakistani national census, the population of Pakistan stood at over 213 million people, making it the world's fifth-most populous country. The majority of Pakistanis natively speak languages belonging to the Indo-Iranic family ( Indo-Aryan and Iranic subfamilies). Located in South Asia, the country is also the source of a significantly large diaspora, most of whom reside in the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, with an estimated population of 4.7 million. The second-largest Pakistani diaspora resides throughout both Northwestern Europe and Western Europe, where there are an estimated 2.4 million; over half of this figure reside in the United Kingdom (see British Pakistanis). Ahmad Nadeem Qasimi
Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi ( ur, ) born Ahmad Shah Awan ( ur, ) (20 November 1916 - 10 July 2006) was an Urdu language Pakistani poet, journalist, literary critic, dramatist and short story author. He wrote 50 books on topics such as poetry, fiction, criticism, journalism and art, and was a major figure in contemporary Urdu literature. His poetry was distinguished by its humanism, and his Urdu ''afsana'' (short story) work is considered by some second only to Munshi Prem Chand in its depiction of rural culture. He was also editor and publisher of the literary magazine '' Funoon'' for almost half a century. He received awards such as the Pride of Performance in 1968 and Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 1980 for his literary work. Eqbal Ahmad
Eqbal Ahmad (1933 – 11 May 1999) was a Pakistani political scientist, writer and academic known for his anti-war activism, his support for resistance movements globally and academic contributions to the study of Near East. Born in Bihar, British India, Ahmad migrated to Pakistan as a child and went on to study economics at the Forman Christian College. After graduating, he worked briefly as an army officer and was wounded in the First Kashmir War in 1948. He participated in the Algerian Revolution, then studied the Vietnam War and U.S. imperialism, becoming an early opponent of the war upon his return to the U.S. in the mid-1960s. While highly regarded in radical circles of South Asia and left-wing circles more generally, Ahmad was a controversial figure. Chiragh Hasan Hasrat
Chiragh Hasan Hasrat ( ur, Born 1904, Poonch, Kashmir ) was a Poet and Journalist. He began composing poetry when he was still a student at school. He was born in Kashmir but after matriculation he migrated to Pakistan. Early in his career Chiragh started teaching at various local schools in Urdu and Persian. He wrote 16 Books. He was also associated with several newspapers like ''Insaa (انساں), Zamindar (زمیںدار), Sheeraza (شیرازہ), Shahbaz (شاہ باز)''. Meher Abbasi ( ur, ), née Bokhari is a Pakistani television anchorperson and host. After a high-profile stint at Dunya News and Dawn News, Bokhari is currently associated with Hum News since February 2021. Siddiq Baloch (alternatively Siddiq Balouch or Siddique Baloch) (10 February 1940 5 February 2018) was a Pakistani journalist, and senior political economist. He was Editor-in-chief of the English daily ''Balochistan Express'' (Quetta), an Urdu daily ''Azadi'', and the ''English Weekly Express'', (Quetta). Abdullah Malik
Abdullah Malik (10 October 1920 10 April 2003) was a Pakistani journalist, writer and political historian. While being an active member of communist party, he contributed to Pakistan movement as a journalist. He worked at various newspapers as a foreign correspondent such '' Daily Imroze'' and Pakistan Times of Progressive Papers Limited. He also wrote more than twenty-four books, most of which are focused on the history of Punjab and Indo-Pakistani wars and conflicts. Biography He was born on 10 October 1920 in Lahore, British India. Syed Akber Ali Wahidi (7 August 1957 25 April 2011) was a Pakistani sports statistician, writer, journalist, historian and media manager of the Pakistan Football Federation.
